A year or more early on OKC. Wonder why everyone takes it as a given that they will progress enough to take down LA?
Orlando is the third best team in the East, and it’s not close.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:47 PM
Every time you pick the Clippers to make the playoffs an angel starts laughing at the absurdity of expecting good things from the Clippers
October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
LOL @ OKC in the finals… Oh gawd….
West: Lakers or Mavs (6)
East: Celtics over Heat (7)
Finals: Lakers over Celtics in 6

October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin
Comeback Player of the Year: Baron Davis, Clippers
if the wizards are going to make the playoffs one of these will have to be Wall or the other Arenas.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Heat 98-0 (82-0, 16-0), super duper champs
BEastern conference clearly superior this year, not even close. West is a hot mess.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
TBL back on the bandwagon!!! yes sir
East Champs: Boston
West Champs: Lakers
Lakers 3 peat
October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Lakers over Heat
October 26th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Do you believe in Magic? Wooo!
October 26th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
lol. good one TBL. Flip is terrible.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
Wow, OKC? Don’t you at least want a single appearance in the Western Conference Semi’s first? Big jump from a rising team to a sudden Finals berth….I agree with Vega, a year early!
October 26th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
lake show over the magic
/lebron blows his knee out by all star break
October 26th, 2010 at 3:50 PM
Coach of the Year: Flip Saunders, Washington
Wow. Speechless.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:51 PM

October 26th, 2010 at 3:51 PM
through the roof, the fan interest is!
/Yoda’d
October 26th, 2010 at 3:51 PM
Flip Saunders?!
October 26th, 2010 at 3:51 PM
VERY young team last year. Won 50 games and gave the Lakers the hardest test they got until the finals. The two best players got a lot better over the summer. The team got better, bigger, deeper. Lakers are older. I still think Phil finishes off his fourth (4th!!!) 3 peat, but wouldn’t be shocked to see them in the finals.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Whoops, forgot to weigh in myself:
Lakers over Celts in the ultimate grudge match. God I hate the faggy Celtics. Bring on the season!
October 26th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Lakers over Bulls. Durant MVP.
Glad to see the Royal We is back with a vengeance, though.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Loved those Air Jordans.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Bold predictions:
lakers over magic (sweep or 5 games), eric Polestra or whatever his name is will be fired when Heat choke in the playoffs, Durant MVP, Wall RoY, Pistons 30 wins, Clippers playoffs, Pacers worst team.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Boy, a lot of love for a Boston team that was pedestrian for most of last year and had just barely enough left in the tank to make a good run. I dont see those old legs holding up for another year.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
And I’m very excited for this season. I’ll even watch Celtics-Heat tonight. And I never watch non-Laker games.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
With three good teams? You sound like an SEC fan.
Celtics over Lakers
MVP: Durantula ROY: Cousins CPOY: CP3
October 26th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
Daaaa Bulls!…to lose in the second round
October 26th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
Magic, Bird, Jordan,……and Ewing?
October 26th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
My only prediction: Miami chokes at some point
October 26th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
*Portland over Orlando
/fuck me
October 26th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
oh and let me add that Mike Beasley will be comeback player of the year. Darko will average 4 and 3 and T-Mac will play in more games than the pistons win.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:55 PM
thursday, irish
October 26th, 2010 at 3:55 PM
The East sucks, as usual.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Please. The West is clearly superior. Just like the NFC Beast.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
I forgot to give a predection as well….
Heat over Boston (7)
Lakers over OKC (6)
Lakers over Heat (6)
NBA MVP: Kevin Durant
Rookie of the Year: John Wall
Coach of the Year: Phil Jackson (a send off gift)
Comeback Player of the Year: Antoine Walker (Joking, joking!)
October 26th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Maybe I’m giving Doc too much credit, but I’m guessing that Perkins will get rest by virtue of rehabbing, and minutes will be diligently watched for KG and Allen. Pierce says he’s healthy and Rondo (maybe?) worked on a mid-range J and FT’s. Big Baby, Nate, Scalabrine and Tony Allen see a LOT of reg season minutes if I’m Doc.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Well, I’ll only watch part of Celts-Heat. The Fernandomania 30 for 30 is on tonight.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Oh and the Knicks will fuck something up. Give Eddy Curry an extension. Not let LaLa into one of the suites. Hire Bruce Pearl mid season. Forget to let ticket holders in one night. Something along those lines.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Lakers vs Celtics. Heat are the third best team in the East.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:58 PM
i’ll be there cowboy. already telling J Wall on twitter that its a block party and he is invited. No Arenas, prob 30 pt Magic victory
God I hate the faggy Celtics. Bring on the season!
who you like Vincent?
October 26th, 2010 at 3:59 PM
@Ballz- ring ceremony tonight. you think AMMO will attend?
October 26th, 2010 at 3:59 PM
New York: Welcome to another decade of irrelevance.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:00 PM
Needs more Deer.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:00 PM
Bulls over Magic (7)
Lakers over Thunder (6)
Lakers over Bulls (5)
MVP: Durant
Rookie of the Year: Griffin
October 26th, 2010 at 4:00 PM
Exactly why I got them back in the finals. Doc has managed his bench very well the past two seasons. He’s going to do it again this year. They’ll figure out the Heat by playoff team.
Irish, I ahte to do this to you, but there is only one way the Magic get a ring. It involves a gun, the swamp, and Vince Carter with a bag over his head.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:01 PM
I would love to agree here, but I think Orlando is lacking just enough balls to get past the Heat and Celts. As big of a douche as he is, LBJ is out to crush some people’s souls this year, and I’m afraid the Magic’s will be among them.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:01 PM
@Ballz- ring ceremony tonight. you think AMMO will attend?
Believe me, I know. Who is AMMO?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:02 PM
Shit, man, this game is up against Glee, though.
/No homo
October 26th, 2010 at 4:02 PM
I couldn’t be less excited for this season.
That said, the Knicks aren’t making the playoffs, that’s silly. I’d bet as much as 5k against that happening.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:02 PM
Lakers over Celts. And I will have a bleeding ulcer by the end of it…
October 26th, 2010 at 4:02 PM
Wrecking shop in the regular season is cute, but ultimately a nonsensical waste of energy.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
I cant believe I once liked the Heat idea: http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2009/11/14/economy-might-ruin-lebron-wade-and-boshs-sleepover/
October 26th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
Adam Morrison Ballz, cmon now. champion
@Jersey- last season with him, thank god
LBJ is out to crush some people’s souls this year, and I’m afraid the Magic’s will be among them
They are on his list
October 26th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
Shit, man, this game is up against Glee, though.
Oilers vs Flames. I’ll probably flip over to bball when they fall behind by 3 early.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
People are sleeping on the T-Wolves.
Not.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:04 PM
Adam Morrison. Made me giggle just to write that. He has rings…
October 26th, 2010 at 4:04 PM
I couldn’t be less excited for this season.
could agree more. the heat can go to hell, and i cant wait to see yao break his foot when he ties his shoe for the first time, killing my hope for the rockets.
Jay- did you make the MMJ shows?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:04 PM
Before his team got loaded up Doc Rivers was one of teh worst coaches in the league, he gets a bunch of superstars all of the sudden he is a genius. The Joe Torre of the NBA?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:04 PM
Yep.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:05 PM
I couldn’t be less excited for this season
no Pacers in the Playoffs Baller?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:05 PM
East: Boston over Orlando in 7
West: Lakers over Spurs in 5
Boston over Lakers in 7
Rookie of the year: Cousins
October 26th, 2010 at 4:05 PM
Playoffs make everything better!
October 26th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
If I didn’t think Brandon Jennings was going to have a huge Sophmore slump, I’d be pumping up the Bucks a lot more, but they are a 45 win team and maybe, MAYBE can get out of the first round. East is too damn good.
That said, if Young Money has a solid year they could be a 50-win team and take any team of the top three teams to a game 7.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
I agree with you on the first part – but I think the Knicks easily get the 7 or 8 seed. The bottom of the east is terrible.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
Adam Morrison Ballz, cmon now. champion
He better be! He just got cut by whatever team signed him and he has guarateed LA poon whenever he’s in town.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
no Pacers in the Playoffs Baller?
Pacers in the playoffs fo’ sho’! Big Gary Roy’s coming out strong this year!

@stark- he better after working with Bill Walton all summer
October 26th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
Vega who you root for in the NBA?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
I’d still bang Hannah Storm.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
Big Gary Roy is a lot funnier to me than what I meant to write. Big Gay Roy/Big Gary Roy. I’m going with the completely nonsensical one
October 26th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
Lakers brah.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:09 PM
It’s about time for CursedCleveland to make his triumphant return.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:10 PM
Hmm, Walton? I hope they worked on defense. Unless Roy’s gonna be playing PG, I don’t think he needs to pass any more than he already did
October 26th, 2010 at 4:10 PM
But let me tell you about Kobe’s footwork…
October 26th, 2010 at 4:11 PM
Irish, I ahte to do this to you, but there is only one way the Magic get a ring. It involves a gun, the swamp, and Vince Carter with a bag over his head
last season w/ Vincenzo Jersey. contract year for him(still sucks)
October 26th, 2010 at 4:11 PM
Is Orlando playing the “I’ve got the magic in me” song at the arena?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:11 PM
I’m not sold on the Lakers taking the top seed, winning the Western Conference, nor the title for that matter.
Kobe doesn’t look right.
Bynum is injured again.
Artest is a wildcard and now that he has a title, what’s his motivation?
I think OKC could make a leap and grab that top spot. And let’s remember, they were pretty close to taking the Lakers to seven games a year ago.
I think Orlando is built for the regular season and takes the top seed in the East but loses in either the semifinals to the Celtics or conference finals to the Heat.
I’ll say Heat over OKC in the finals.
Let’s also remember that LBJ carried the Cavs to the finals a year or two early as well.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:11 PM
good stuff Vega. stick around. need more Lakers fans on here
October 26th, 2010 at 4:12 PM
That’s sarcasm, right?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:13 PM
After the top 5, I could see anyone getting the bottom 3 seeds other than NJ (unless they land Melo), Philly, and Toronto. Even Cleveland wouldn’t completely surprise me.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:14 PM
Cleveland would completely surprise me. They look like the 98-99 Bulls
October 26th, 2010 at 4:14 PM
He’s learned to get out of the players way but get the bench guys enough reps to understand their roles when the real season starts.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:14 PM
Pistons in 4
October 26th, 2010 at 4:15 PM
Durantula
October 26th, 2010 at 4:15 PM
nope Sanders. Ballz and Ty WebbOG only Lakers fans on here
October 26th, 2010 at 4:15 PM
Get out of here with that, carrying a team of bums to the finals, then dragging a bunch of trash to the best record two years in a row is meaningless.
Guy is a fraud.
/people around here
October 26th, 2010 at 4:16 PM
Not even close. They have guys that can score, guys that can rebound, and guys that can defend. I don’t think winning 35-40 is completely out of the question.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:16 PM
think Orlando is built for the regular season and takes the top seed in the East
built for the reg season, yet in the Finals 2 years ago and conference finals last year. gotcha
October 26th, 2010 at 4:16 PM
Sounds awesome.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:17 PM
Psh. Regular season records. Carrying a bad team to wins.
/Wanking motion
October 26th, 2010 at 4:18 PM
You’ll have to show me something to convince me that anybody on that roster other than Antawn Jamison deserves to start in the NBA at this point, Dr. Tom.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:19 PM
I watched this game when it happened…really had to be seen to be believed
October 26th, 2010 at 4:19 PM
remember people not picking the Celts big 3. This Heat team much better talent around a much better overall 3.
/please post this.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:19 PM
Sounds like the 8th seed in the East which was my point.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:20 PM
Lebron isn’t a fraud. That’s ridiculous.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:20 PM
He doesn’t have “It,” though.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:20 PM
Oh, really? Shit, uhm. How much am I getting for Orlando wining this whole thing? Seriously, I need odds.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:21 PM
Through the East. And swept by the first decent team they faced in the playoffs that year.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:21 PM
Magic over Heat (5)
Jazz over Spurs (6)
Magic over Jazz(6)
MVP: Durant
Rookie of the Year: Griffin
COY: Sloan
October 26th, 2010 at 4:21 PM
Mo Williams and Varejao would easily start for a bunch of teams.
I’m not sure when people here decided that Williams was terrible. I personally don’t like him, but he’s not bad.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:21 PM
At what point did I call LeBron the greatest
QBplayer in history. Took Peyton 9 years to get 1.October 26th, 2010 at 4:22 PM
cavs aren’t that bad but they’ll be trading away assets by new years.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
I really don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to say Peyton is one of the greatest players in history, and has a good chance of ending his career as the greatest. You may hate him, but you’re just going to have to live with that. Sorry.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
13/1 they have them at Jersey
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
The West isn’t nearly as strong as it has been the last few years. In fact, the only reason people pick the Lakers to win it (or OKC for that matter) is because there really isn’t another option.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
I’m fully on board the Mo Williams is terrible bus. I’ve been sitting down comfortably waiting for fellow passengers to board for several years.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
Of course, silly me, I always forget that football is an individual sport played only by QB’s.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:23 PM
Vincenzo is a disgrace.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:24 PM
Also, Varejao is a husk of a once useful player that was always best suited to being an off-the-bench energy defender
October 26th, 2010 at 4:25 PM
This is likely the case. In fact, most of the middling East teams will probably be doing the same as they know they have zero chance getting out of the first round this year.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:25 PM
closely correlated to “pitchers hit for themselves only and have no defense behind them” syndrome.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:25 PM
that’s ya boy Hernia forever
October 26th, 2010 at 4:25 PM
He doesn’t have “It,” though.
He’s only 25.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:26 PM
o_O I’m not joking when I say Vince in a contract completely changes the way I feel about him and that team.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:26 PM
I can’t wait for Manning to take his talents to
South BeachFoxboro to win a ring beingWade’sBrady’sside kickback up.October 26th, 2010 at 4:27 PM
where are you getting this from?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:27 PM
i cant wait for steeler fans to inbreed themselves to extinction.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:28 PM
Ha! That would be funny to see him and Brady team up for the twilight of their careers, alternating series. Fuck it, I wouldn’t blame Manning for wanting to finally pair up with a coach who won’t get bent over.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:28 PM
3-Peat. Hope the Lake Show keeps Bynum out until 2011 starts to save his knees. No need to tax him with meaningless regular season minutes. Hope Kobe takes some games off, too.
Just hoping the Bulls win one playoff series as well. Don’t think that’s too much to ask.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:28 PM
I’m not joking when I say Vince in a contract completely changes the way I feel about him and that team
he pissed me off so much last season. totally disappeared in the Boston series. JJ Redick starting 2 guard of the future. he got his contract
October 26th, 2010 at 4:28 PM
From watching him accomplish very little when he’s on the court
October 26th, 2010 at 4:29 PM
I dont hate Peyton at all, great QB, good guy, absolute blast to watch. I dispute the whole greatest ever thing, but thats obviously subjective.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:29 PM
that’s preposterous. you’re just hating now.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:30 PM
Did Orlando improve at all in the offseason, videos of Dwight working out with Dream not included?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:30 PM
I can’t wait for Manning to take his talents to South Beach Foxboro to win a ring being Wade’s Brady’s side kick back up.
A true 2-QB system! have em both line up in the shotgun, you never know who’s gonna get the ball! Unless it’s apassing down. Then it’s definitely going to Manning
October 26th, 2010 at 4:31 PM
Shit, new Friday Night Lights starts tomorrow? They’re really promoting the shit outta that one.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:32 PM
I will not dispute that I hate Varejao. Dead homeless man’s version of Ben Wallace
October 26th, 2010 at 4:32 PM
Quentin Richardson instead of Matt Barnes. They will continue to surround Dwight Howard with shooters. This works fine for all teams except those that can guard D-Ho one on one.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:32 PM
I see we are back to picking the Suns to not make the playoffs again TBL. Steve Nash and 8 Small forwards shall blitzkrieg teams to the number 8 seed.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:33 PM
as long as you admit that you’re completely and totally biased and that he’s an valuable player for a contending team.
fuck you. im pissed now. fuck you right in the face.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:33 PM
Just hoping the Bulls win one playoff series as well. Don’t think that’s too much to ask.
They’ll win 3.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:34 PM
Did Orlando improve at all in the offseason, videos of Dwight working out with Dream not included?
nothing major, added ya boy Orton who sucks
October 26th, 2010 at 4:34 PM
Only because I am required by law to say this because of how much I love 18, but of all hsi great qualities, it is great watching him morph the entire offense during a game to beat a defense. I’ll be lucky enough to ever see another qb that’s able to do that.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:35 PM
I see we are back to picking the Suns to not make the playoffs again TBL. Steve Nash and 8 Small forwards shall blitzkrieg teams to the number 8 seed.
Are you gonna watch the Banner Raising/Ring Ceremony tonight, YYSA?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:35 PM
This works fine for all teams except those that can guard D-Ho one on one
2 out of 30. never answered my comment about the reg season Dr Tom. NBA Finals, conf finals last year, yet built for the reg season lol
October 26th, 2010 at 4:36 PM
You could’ve saved all of that typing and instead just jizzed all over your screen.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:36 PM
but i will say this about Orton, Gortat developed into the a BEAST practicing against Howard, so at least Orton gets to go against the best in practice
October 26th, 2010 at 4:36 PM
Paying VC last year’s salary to make this a contract year has to count right? Also, Q. Richardson is going to like the wide open looks he gets from beyond the arc.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:37 PM
Cleveland will be the surprise team this year. They’re good enough to get a 6th seed.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:38 PM
Yes. Yes I will and then when I am done with that I shall adjust my oven to a cool 535° and stick my head in it.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:38 PM
Let me re-phrase. I think they’re built for the regular season this year. I don’t think they matchup well with the top of the East but I don’t think Miami gets to the top of the conference because of depth, the Celtics won’t because of age (and they don’t care about the regular season), and the Bulls just won’t have enough yet.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:38 PM
Company screen.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:39 PM
Cleveland will be the surprise team this year.
“9 wins out of 82 games? That’s surprising.”
/ Sports fan from the future’d
October 26th, 2010 at 4:39 PM
Wait. Isn’t Varajao still on the Cavs?
I’m with Stark I can’t stand that floppy haired flopper. rasheed should have ended him.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:40 PM
Darrell = Dan Gilbert?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:41 PM
Someone should create a Fake Stan van Gundy…

Kobe’s just bringing the knee back slowly. Hopefully Bynum does the same. If Ratliff can play some meaningful minutes, it’s icing on the cake. We now also have Matt Barnes for defensive shutdown duties to assist Artest. Blake will also help at PG. Gasol and Kobe both rested this off-season for the first time.
I won’t say it’s a shoo-in, but if they are healthy, I think they take it without too much difficulty. With the addition of Blake and Barnes, Kobe is now guarding the biggest scrub on the floor so he can rest.

he is…im saying he’s valuable to a team that will contend…which is why he’ll get traded.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:41 PM
Ha. Excellent display of self control.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:43 PM
I will agree with that. I was totally confused, thinking you were saying the Cavs were contenders. Cavs/Pistons/Pacers will be a nice cripple fight for the cellar of the Central.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:43 PM
It didn’t help him much at UK going against Cousins. Don’t expect too much, unless you consider throwing your ex-teammates under the bus to be an addition.

I’m not saying that the Lakers won’t be good by season’s end, they will. But I think they get off to a rough start which might make it difficult for them to get the #1 seed. They were only 2 games ahead of Dallas for the #1 spot last season (3 ahead of PHX and 4 ahead of Den/UT). The margin for error is pretty small.
If OKC had homecourt in that series last season? It might have been a different story. The Lakers need homecourt.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:44 PM
You could’ve saved all of that typing and instead just jizzed all over your screen.
Company screen.
Ha. Excellent display of self control.
I was gonna quote Costanza after his boss found out he banged the cleaning lady on his desk, but I couldn’t remember what he said. So this is what you get.

i dont even know why he was picked. knee issues still
October 26th, 2010 at 4:45 PM
cavs and pacers could sneak in the bottom of the playoffs if everything goes right and they stay healthy. the pistons have no shot.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:46 PM
I would insist… nay, I demand you grow a mustache if you can get a photo with him irish.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:46 PM
I’m surprised that Cursed Cleveland is such a big NBA fan. The crowds never rush the court. Except in Detroit.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:46 PM
Educate me. Are the Pistons really that terrible? I thought the Pacers were regarded as the worst team in basketball?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:47 PM
The Lakers need homecourt.
False.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
BALLIN’

That is all.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
Well they certainly wont have to worry about that one.

sheeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttt.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:49 PM
Nice to have for sure, but I don’t think they NEED it. The beauty of having all that experience is being able to win on the road. We’ll see how hard they push to get #1. Phil is a pretty smart dude and knows the team well, so I doubt emphasis gets misplaced during reg. season.
/Already setting up Phil as my scapegoat
October 26th, 2010 at 4:49 PM
Once The Lakers made their defensive adjustments on OKC, they were good to go.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:49 PM
Pistons have talent but I’m not sure the sum is greater than the parts. Austin Daye has looked really good this preseason. Really good. The Charlie V and Ben GOrdon signings were just awful. But they do have spare parts that would be valuable for contenders.
I like Indiana’s starting five with Collison and the emergence of Hibbert. But they don’t have much depth.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:51 PM
Ballin’ Ty!
October 26th, 2010 at 4:52 PM
Pistons are bad. Pacers are worse. IMHO Pacers are the worst team w/o a doubt. For the most part I agree with Dr. Tom’s take on the Pistons.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:52 PM
This. And even though “this”, they needed some very sloppy play from OKC and some good timing by Gasol to avoid game 7 in that series.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:54 PM
Yes. Horrible. You can’t possibly believe that a team with a 6’11 210LB starting PF is good. You can only get away with that in Orlando because you have a beast in the middle.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:55 PM
I expect a 2001, 2002 type regular season for the Lakers this year. As in, between 52-56 wins.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:55 PM
Thanks, Doc/JHS.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
This is all correct.
When does Sparty come back? He’s the only other Pistons fan on here and I’m going to back to back MSU games next week (granted it’s Minny & Purdue, but still) so I feel his loss more
October 26th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
No way they’re worse than Toronto.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
Cavs still have some decent and experienced pieces to make a run to the playoffs. They have a PG who was pretty good in the league before he ever came to Cleveland and people had to down talk the roster to up lift LeBron’s greatness. Mo will just be in a position where he has more playmaking responsibilities as he had before he reached Cleveland. Byron Scott is a winning coach who runs the offense Jamison had success with in Washington. They’ll be decent.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:58 PM
Wait, MSU is playing 2 conference games to start the season?
October 26th, 2010 at 4:59 PM
I like OKC’s squad, but they’re not coming out of the west, too soon.
Watch VC actually try this year, and Q rain 3′s….
October 26th, 2010 at 5:01 PM
Can’t wait to see Barnes as a Laker, have to admit I always hated him when we played against him….
October 26th, 2010 at 5:01 PM
Football. But for once this decade, MSU football is relevant to talk about this late in the season
October 26th, 2010 at 5:03 PM
Welcome back Sparty!
October 26th, 2010 at 5:15 PM
Saunders? wow.
comeback player of the year? why he wasnt hurt? he just was lazy
October 26th, 2010 at 5:34 PM
And you know I think nothing of Saunders.
Think Davis will be a revelation (thanks to Griffin). BD played 75 games last year but was ineffective and a shell of his former self. I can see an 18-10 season for him (15-8 last year) and the Clippers being good.
October 26th, 2010 at 5:36 PM
The Clips problem is, as always, the mental aspect though. Especially for Baron Davis. If they go on a bad streak or get a major injury they’ll be folding like envelopes under pressure like Luke Ferrigno on coke.

Glad I didn’t make this wager…
April 9th, 2011 at 1:43 PM
Bwahahahahahahahaha… and I went and reread this thread, I feel kind of smart.
April 9th, 2011 at 1:50 PM
If Boston beats Miami tomorrow Darrell’s comment that the Heat would be the third best team in the East would come true (at least seeding wise)
April 9th, 2011 at 1:52 PM
Scary, right?
