Jesus. Just what we need, more things “banned”. Sure, go ahead, ban tobacco from the field. It’s for the kids! Major League Baseball doing its part to save the world from all that ails our youth.

That will do nothing to lower the cancer rate as guys will chew off the field if they so choose. Ballplayers don’t uncontrollably stuff chew in their cheeks once they step on the field.

How is that a stupid statement? You think the Lenny Dykstra look is attractive? Plus is the players health insurance paid by mlb? If it is, why would they allow players to do something which can easily lead to future health problems and which mlb would then have to wind up paying for?
