Charles Barkley Went to Eagles-Redskins and Wore a Donovan McNabb jersey
All, Former Athletes, Jerseys, NFL October 4th. 2010, 11:08am
Gotta love Charles Barkley wandering into the city where he became famous and wearing a McNabb Redskins jersey. Better than this? What McNabb said in the locker room after the game: “Everybody makes mistakes in their lifetime, and they made one last year.” [Twitpic via @BxBomber12]

Barkley is the man. Much respect to Chuck
October 4th, 2010 at 11:12 AM
I think it just has this on the tag.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:12 AM
I thought Charles was all about city loyalty?
/LeBron’d
For the record I loved seeing Donovan stick it to the Eagles, F them.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:14 AM
True that…even though DMac5 really didnt have a good game, it was great watching Kolb suck dick. Loved how Aikman was ripping McNabb for missing his passes (which he was) but when Kolb kept missing Jackson and Celek? Nothing

I know, you would think that of all people, The Round Mound Of Rebound would be most loyal to the city most famous for cheesestakes.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:15 AM
I would pay to see the video of a regular joe doing the same thing. Then I would go jail for purchasing a snuff film.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:16 AM
Photo needs cigar smoking turban mustachio in it.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:16 AM
Chuck looks kind of dazed in the picture.

Obligatory whenever someone says “Fuck the Eagles”.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:17 AM
And Barkley gets more publicity.
/mission accomplished
//he probably didn’t give a shit
October 4th, 2010 at 11:19 AM
Barkley can do no wrong.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
A buddy of mine who’s a racists fan went to the game wearing a jersey. apparently he made it out alive.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:20 AM
Shipley got killed. That’s the kind of hit Chuck Cecil would be proud of. To the head, and on a defenseless receiver.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:21 AM
C’mon, spencer. That was an illegal hit and Shipley’s brain got scrambled into concussion mode.
Barkley continues to kick ass kinds of ass. I love the “I don’t give a fuck” mentality.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:21 AM
guess who else was there with Chuck!?
October 4th, 2010 at 11:21 AM
The draft pick the Eagles got in exchange for Mcnabb picked off Mcnabb yesterday
October 4th, 2010 at 11:21 AM
Bressus didnt watch the Saints game, but whats up with your squad?
It really cant be because of Reggie Bush can it?

The kind of injury Michael Irvin must have suffered prior to say LaDanian Tomlinson is the league MVP thus far.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:23 AM
a) since when is hitting a construction cone illegal?
b) fuck the bengals
c) agreed and don’t care

The Eagles fans showed Donovan much more respect than I figured they would. You dummies can shit on him all you want, but they built that contender (in large part) on his back. And Runyan’s, and Dawkins’s, and those old Cowboy killin’ corners. And Westbrooks’

I’ll take an interception over a win every day of the week.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:24 AM
YES!
October 4th, 2010 at 11:24 AM
and im pretty sure, after watching this, shipley’s brains were already scrambled.
no harm done, as far as im concerned.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:24 AM
As a child I loved Chuck Cecil, one of my fav players. I remember his SI cover.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:24 AM

Mustachio Cigarillo > Strutting Leo

Need to clean up the edges there a bit on that photoshop.

dirty, dirty player. He’s lucky he didn’t cripple somebody, or himself. Spear guns don’t spear as many things as chuck cecil.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:30 AM
Aikman and Jack Buck’s son were ridiculous yesterday with their McNabb bias. They must not have received the Limbaugh memo.

Mustachio Cigarillo passes the eyeball test.

It was almost as bad as Musberger and Herbstreit opening rooting for Boise State against Virginia Tech.

you mean for him, right? Like pro-mcnabb.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:32 AM
The draft pick that the Eagles used to replace McNabb, Kevin Kolb, sucked ass yesterday
Agree 100% Darrell, jesus I hate those two
October 4th, 2010 at 11:33 AM
anti.

yeah, he didn’t look so awesome. But he didn’t look hopeless.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
he didn’t look like a franchise QB.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
speaking of eagles QB’s…how bad do you think that lineman that held on vick’s injury run is going to get reamed this week?
October 4th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
you mean for him, right? Like pro-mcnabb.
anti.
I didn’t hear much of that, but I watched the whole game fast forwarding between plays. I don’t listen much to the talking unless the cowboys are playing.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:35 AM
Joe Buck continues to be a total cock. He tried to break down Asante Samuel missing on a tackle yesterday. Just call the game gheyboy, that is what your dad was so good at, and let the color guy make the analysis.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:36 AM
he didn’t look like a franchise QB.
Yeah, I’m looking pretty wrong on that one.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:37 AM
He’s got rich, pampered here’s my entitled and incorrect two cents syndrome, also known as Trey Wingo Disease.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:37 AM
I just thought it was a neat fact.

I don’t know where the sportsdork went, but he can do five minutes of misery about Max Jean-Gilles. That guy is an awful football player. His rep didn’t just get worse because of that. That’s how bad he is.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:38 AM
He looked like Sanchez in week 1. Theres still hope.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:39 AM
you guys are all obsessed with the talking heads talking.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:41 AM
I wouldn’t say obsessed. I try not to pay attention to any of them, unless its Collinsworth and even he has been worse than usual this year, not doing as much research on the teams. I just can’t stand Buck and Wingo. They look like the kind of guy who wears an ascot and irons his jeans while sipping a latte and plucking his eyebrows.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:41 AM
of course…the talking heads were awesome. i worship at david byrne’s altar.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:43 AM
They’re not talking heads, they’re a part of the presentation of the game, and with all the time it’s taking these days with timeouts between plays, they’re getting more time than ever to talk. Some keep quiet, and some are Jack Buck’s son.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:45 AM
Same as it ever was…
October 4th, 2010 at 11:46 AM
Except Sanchez went against the Ravens in Week 1…Kolb hasnt exactly faced a lights out defense

I’ve got those MFers tuned out. I mostly mumble to myself during football games.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:48 AM
LOL.
I don’t really care that Shipley got rocked and that it wasn’t a clean hit. It’s just that the concussion stuff is kinda scary, ya know?
October 4th, 2010 at 11:49 AM
Flacco on The Herd. He sounds as dumb as he looks.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:49 AM
I mostly just say, “Oh, here comes another three-step drop and eight yards gained against us. Awesome.”
October 4th, 2010 at 11:50 AM
def.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:51 AM
I say screw it, even though it’s football, throw Jay Bilas in the booth. He’s awesome.

this is the loosened helmet era, too. Which I find odd. I can’t believe how easily these helmets come off these guys. I remember my helmet being so tight it hurt my ears to get it on and to get it off. These just fly off all over the place.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:56 AM
Reading, I think it was TMQ, the other day about how kids’ skulls aren’t completely closed until age 12 made me reevaluate my stance on pee wee football. I think the hypothetical little Sanderses won’t be playing until junior high.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:57 AM
my old roomie works for ridell helmets.
the high end ones fit PERFECTLY, like gloves. they’re tight fitting on your head, but come off pretty easy.

This is a big part of the issue, the new helmets are better, but if guys don’t wear them properly. Similar thing happening in hockey, guys wear a helmet and a visor yet the chinstrap is so loose every small jolt causes the helmet to pop off.
