i love kitties!!!
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:08 AM
I want to hit her so hard
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:11 AM
I have watched DJ Kitty at least 10 times already. Love that stuff, Keyboard Cat was better though.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:13 AM
Worm eats Cedar Rapids man’s retina …
this reminds me of those Parasites shows. The one where the guy all of a sudden starts eating and eating and eating, then one day his tummy feels funny, and he goes to take a dump, and (throwing up in mouth) said he feels something hanging down his leg and (not done throwing up in mouth yet) then he starts pulling on it, pulling this long worm out of his butt!!!!
i can’t imagine being so revolted at something happening to me as if that happened, pulling a worm out of my ass
/oh, and good morning!!
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:15 AM
That cat had to be drugged. Made me laugh though!
CJ, I totally agree.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:16 AM
Did it really cost $400,000 for JWoww to get naked?
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:16 AM
what’s yer price duff?
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:17 AM
the blake lively breast slideshow was the best thing NYMag has ever done.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:17 AM
Stay classy, Philly Daily News..
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:18 AM
Did it really cost $400,000 for JWoww to get naked?
Another reason Playboy is going broke.

i remember not too long ago you could write the same sentence and insert Cleveland Indians
/fuck the dolans
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:20 AM
hat tip to Jay V of Considerable influence.
If NY Mag can do slideshows and galleries … you’re damn right they’re coming to TBL at some point.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:22 AM
nobody going to emory watched that show.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:23 AM
very very funny.
wasn’t keyboard cat a ginger? so, the black cat is a DJ and the ginger is the piano player? racist.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:24 AM
TBL…are you aware of their fantastic weekly GG wrapup?…Jessica Pressler does some of the funniest TV writing on the web.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
Minka Kankle looks like Sofia’s publicist. She should’ve requested solo poses only so she could get some shine.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
i will never complain about blake lively again, if i ever did. truly fine. but, back to my campaign against red-carpet shots in RU, any of those shots of her “acting” whomp on half of the red-carpet shots. TBL, is there a policy that mandates red-carpet shots only for RU? no bikini, no tennis girls in action, no screen grabs, no caught in public
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
rich people are angry!
I’ve always thought the idea of a flat tax was a good one. Everyone pays their fair share of taxes that way.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:28 AM
Like that e-mail chain that went around ~10 years ago when I was in college about the girl who masturbated with a live lobster, which laid eggs in her and they hatched inside her uterus. Good times.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:29 AM
Oh, anyone else think Lea Michelle needs to eat about 234235 hamburgers after watching Glee last night?
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:30 AM
TG – that was nice of your boys to show up last Saturday.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:30 AM
He was nearly 100 pounds lighter in high school. Despite rumors and speculation to the contrary, he has denied taking performance-enhancing drugs to make the adjustment.
that’s a pretty big difference. 100 pounds over 5 years. I guess I wonder how Clay Matthews’s son was so small in the first place.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
the girl who masturbated with a live lobster
go on….

Arkansas doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell against them, Bama’s that good.

That guy on the lawnmower seemed to think he knew his rights.

why the face, modern family is on to night, hells yeah.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:36 AM
Funniest thing last night watching the Twins celebrate the division title is when Denard Span introduced Danny Valencia to the announcer and said “Watch out ladies”. You know he’s hitting anything thrown his way and I am not talking curve balls.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:37 AM
Dion Sims father is involved in a similar situation.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:38 AM
Dear Rays: start winning so the Twins don’t have to play you. K thanks.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:38 AM
only did bikini in the early days. right now can only use what’s on getty, hence no paparazzi shots. why only getty? Because the site was bought and if we (or anyone, really) uses photos that don’t belong to them, you can get sued.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:39 AM
I did a quick google search to see if I could find the urban legend, but all the sites that reference it are blocked. Anyway, there’s no need for me to detail any further, you can get the gist from what I said above.

/nevermind the retarded comments by the cameraman
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:41 AM
So the Chargers want a 2nd and a 3rd round pick for V-Jack and his 1 year contract? No thanks. It might be reasonable if he was signed to, say a 5 year contract but not for one and done.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:42 AM
Has anyone been watching the new TV shows? I DVR’d The Event and Hawaii Five-O, but haven’t watched them yet. Mike & Molly was decent, as was Running Wilde. Anything else anyone can recommend? I have so holes to fill now that Lost, 24, etc. are gone.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:42 AM
Anyway, there’s no need for me to detail any further, you can get the gist from what I said above.
Did the claws have those rubber bands on them, or was she a real risk taker. Also, if the lobster was a lady, and she was a lady, does that make her a lesbian?
Oh, and were the lobster babies part human when they came out?
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:42 AM

September 22nd, 2010 at 8:45 AM

September 22nd, 2010 at 8:45 AM
Lobster Love.September 22nd, 2010 at 8:45 AM
Mike & Molly was decent, as was Running Wilde.
I can’t imagine the first part is true (although that fat girl is kinda funny, I guess) and the second one, I really disagree. Will Arnett is so very insufferable, and can only do the one thing he was doing on that show, and they tried to recreate the Arrested concept.
I wish Detroit 187 didn’t have Michael Imperioli, or I’d be watching that one for sure. I may still, because I’m a sucker for police procedurals. I’m waiting to hear some more opinions on Hawaii 5-0, too.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:46 AM
Hawaii 5-0 is ok. Give it a few shows to see if it gets better but the female on the show is smoking hot.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:46 AM
Watched Hawaii Five-0, I thought it was fun, nothing too groundbreaking, just a good way to waste an hour. The Event I watched while I was kinda surfing the internet and I think I have to watch it again, I wasnt really following what was happening. Could be good, I think.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Meangelo has never made the All Pro team. 2x for Beast first team, 1x second team. Johnson responded
“I mean, those are his thoughts,” Johnson told Houston’s Sports Radio 610. “The scheme that they ran, if he wanted to play me man-to-man, he should have told his coaches before the game. That’s not my problem. For them to be running zone coverages like that with the safety over the top, and for me to still have 12 catches for 158 yards, somebody wasn’t doing their job.”
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:47 AM
go outside.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:47 AM
I haven’t watched any of the new shows yet but I am just catching up on DVR with the second season of Fringe and I must say I am rather impressed.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:48 AM
so-signed…the male lead (dont know his name) seems to be the weak link in regards to the main characters. There are some great grace park scenes in there
The Event has me intrigued, worth sticking around for a few weeks to see what develops
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:48 AM
thanks for the answer TBL. ever thought of a staff photog?
jennifer grey is hideous. roethlisdog, why not go for something older you always meant to see, maybe a carnevale or rome or weeds? why new?

No one puts Baby on a trend list.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:49 AM
Yeah she had the highest score. Ha, the Hoff was the first one voted off. Back to booze and cheeseburgers.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:49 AM
Ah, and I guess she’s on it? That would make sense.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:49 AM
Nope, most inherited it.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:50 AM

you mean put on jorts, go outside, take off those jorts, and romance your own sister.
/miz is a redneck
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:50 AM
check out boardwalk empire, it’s entertaining and promising. didn’t like scorsese’s directing until the last 20 minutes though.
not sure if i’m adding any shows to replace lost or 24, sorta liking the extra free time to play videogames, read or workout.
however, the walking dead is one i am highly anticipating.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:50 AM
I hate the Twins so much I cannot even express it.
I respect them almost as much.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:50 AM
Top scorer on DWTS and she has cancer…makes sense.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:51 AM
AJ catcheth and AJ layeth the smacketh down.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:51 AM
I said what I meant…the other stuff was merely implied.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:52 AM
i thought that about flashforward, too. going to watch the event tonight, but i’m very guarded against it. don’t feel like wasting time on another mystery/concept show.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:52 AM
Not missing that – loved the first ep and curious to see how the series develops. Kenny Powers is back this week as well.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:53 AM
???
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:53 AM
BYU lost its QB for the season, so highly-acclaimed true freshman Jake Heaps will take over as the starter.
Needs more Jimmer.
Tom Brady’s keeping the long, Bieber-like hair because … Gisele likes it, of course.
I’d keep Don King hair if Gisele said she liked it, screw Bieber.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:53 AM
Bummer.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:54 AM
Sooo, they already know who the winner is?
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:55 AM
agree 100% flashforward lost my interest pretty quickly
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:55 AM
Far better than Flashforward in both acting and plot. Can’t believe that the main guy is John Ritter’s kid, but he was actually pretty good. I’m definitely in for at least half a season to see if the show goes anywhere.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:56 AM
it was a really cool concept, but it was slow and they teased you along with so many red herrings without payoff. would have made a great movie though.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:56 AM
i hate the music. almost hate it enough to not watch.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:57 AM
Sooo, they already know who the winner is?
or at least who’s gonna be around til the end.
and she has cancer too. did anyone ever check out the toxicity of the DD set? stars be droppin like flies
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:58 AM
These days I just tend to DVR anything I find remotely interesting and wait to see what sticks. Nothing is worse than becoming interested in a show just for it to last a season or less.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:58 AM
that bothered me, too. poor selections, really. it reminded me of inglorious basterds music…it just didn’t fit well in some scenes…
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:59 AM
Nothing is worse than becoming interested in a show just for it to last a season or less

September 22nd, 2010 at 8:59 AM
and she has cancer too
i had never heard of neck cancer until just now, when I looked up what kind of cancer it was.
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:59 AM
Hawaii 5-0 was decent. Will give it another short. Boardwalk Empire was fantastic, but agree with Spencer, the ’20s music they put in there was turrible.
I DVR’d Lone Star as it was one of Sepinwall’s favorites for this year…except there is already talk about it being canceled.
I have high hopes for Rubicon’s final few episodes. Seems like its going to ramp up in a big way. If it doesn’t, then I might not be tagging along for S2.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:00 AM
i got into a show on NBC last yr called “Kings” that I thought was pretty awesome then it went off the air only to return on Saturdays (i think) and it ended abruptly. Pretty disappointing, you feel like you wasted all this time
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:01 AM
i hate the music. almost hate it enough to not watch
what would you prefer? great producer behind that show
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:01 AM
Saw The Town last night. Lively was horrendous.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:01 AM
jericho, still pissed b/c that was such an awesome concept and they actually paid off with mysteries.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:02 AM
i’ve hated D Hall since his days at the always fraudulent VaTech, but i’ve seen a new player thru the first two weeks of the NFL this year. i’m positive that will change if the skins fall off the map.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:04 AM
it doesn’t sound like Lone Star is going to make it.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:04 AM
anyone interested in an Inception video game?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:04 AM
Just read Boardwalk Empire was renewed for a second season. That didn’t take very long.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:05 AM
I cant believe they moved The Good Guys to Fridays. Theyre gonna kill it.

You keep the Emory Eagles name out yo mouff!
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:06 AM
Bugged me too. Appeared to be tied into the plot, almost like a foreshadowing device and it distracts the viewer from what is happening on screen. Will still watch though, has 3 more episodes to keep me involved. Liked the 1st, hoping for more.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:07 AM
They gave it a terrible timeslot even if it was following the premiere of House. The strategy of lead-in’s doesn’t work anymore and the Networks still haven’t figured it out.
I haven’t seen the show but it seems like it would be a better fit on cable. Maybe they send it to FX.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:07 AM
I cant believe they moved The Good Guys to Fridays. Theyre gonna kill it.
it already killed itself. The summer ratings were abysmal, and they would have dumped it then if they didn’t already have it slated for Fridays.
Fox does not care about Fridays, apparently. The lead in for Good Guys is reruns of Human Target, which I Fox wishes they could already have cancelled (but I like).
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:08 AM
Are you lookin’ for a bannin’?
/The boss’d
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:08 AM
it’s almost like they tried too hard with the music, wasn’t it?
i think they played upbeat jazzy music during the baby incubator scene, too. strange choices, but the ending was fantastic, could see it coming a mile away though.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:08 AM
Very distracting especially when you have closed captioning on which I usually do because I miss a good amount of the dialogue on these types of shows.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:08 AM
And yet by all accounts he had the exact same face when he found out they were trading Mcnabb. If this move was to appease the locker room, the Eagles are DUMB.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:09 AM
If Blake Lively’s breasts are natural, they’re a contender for best in showbiz bound for pound

/still reeling a bit
wishing you had McNabb back at all?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:09 AM
I doubt it had anything to do with that, I just thought his reaction was interesting.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:10 AM
If Blake Lively’s breasts are natural, they’re a contender for best in showbiz bound for pound
of course those things aren’t real. Haven’t you ever seen how real big boobs hang? They don’t sit at attention. Those rigs are bolted on.

Just thinking about how to answer that gives me a headache.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:12 AM
I thought it looked good, but if you’re going to put it on during MNF, well then I’m not going to watch. The DVR was recording GG. If youre interested this season has been fantastic so far.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:14 AM
you’re really going to base that on Duke’s performance against them? please.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:15 AM
Just thinking about how to answer that gives me a headache.
well are you at least wishing Kevin Kolb hadn’t been the guy that forced the Eagles front office into making the decision?

Yeah… but I just want them to be real so bad. I feel like that wrestling fan.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:15 AM

for live events, this can be fantastically funny
anyone discuss this before? i always forget to remember the best mistakes. anyone know if there’s a website for funny CC errors?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:17 AM
Remember when ESPN would put figure skating on opposite of MNF? They knew what they were doing.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:17 AM
*Spoiler Alert*
Finally got around to last Sunday’s Mad Men. Anyone else think the whole Miss Blankenship thing was kinda dumb?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:19 AM
of course those things aren’t real. Haven’t you ever seen how real big boobs hang? They don’t sit at attention. Those rigs are bolted on.
no way dirt. i pride myself on not liking bolt-ons. these have overhang caused by gravity. if they appear to stand at attention, try to remember any encounters you have had with 20-somethings
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:19 AM
Those tits are real to him dammit!
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:19 AM
I have no idea how any of this is going to play out now. No one really knows any more about whether Kevin Kolb is going to be a good NFL quarterback than we did three weeks ago.
Vick IS playing really well, that’s undeniable. But the process has been ugly and potentially damaging to Reid and Kolb that I’m beyond trying to predict how things play out from here.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:21 AM
The writer in the New Yorker commentary on education really decided to pick and choose to get his point across. That piece is woefully lacking in many details that are key to the problems of education in our country right now.
Comparing our current education standards to that of what was happening inthe 1920′s is just plain dumb. I’m glad there was only one page of that rubbish, because I wouldn’t have read any more of it…
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:23 AM
is there some reason we should be giving a flying fuck about kevin kolb?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:24 AM
I can’t believe that DeAngelo would have *wanted* to play Andre Johnson in man-on-man. He would have been eviscerated. He’s still looking for the toys Eddie Royal took from him three two seasons ago.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:24 AM
In the office, it was maybe a little over the top, but it had meaning as stated in the multiple recaps I read on Mondays.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:24 AM
i thought it was hilarious, much needed comic relief.
after all, the season theme seems to be how your projected image to others is not what your true self is and the conflict that brings. the obit writing was an example of that.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:25 AM
is there some reason we should be giving a flying fuck about kevin kolb?
if he’s a mediocre NFL QB, then yeah, given the dearth of QBs in the NFL. You’d may not believe this, but there’s a team who’s starting Jake Delhomme. That’s how bad it is.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:26 AM
speaking of the new yorker, from a piece last december on clean energy tech in china, a company modeled on hi-tech California firms, with on-campus sports facilities and such. their website had reports from in-company games
“all the vigorous and valiant players shot and dunked frequently”
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:26 AM
i’ll please take back an apostrophe, and a little d.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:27 AM
It boggles the mind. People are acting like he was the #1 pick with $50mil guaranteed and face of the franchise. Hes a second rounder who in 4 years has mad $4 mil.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:27 AM
no, i get that, i really do. and i can see why maybe someone like chad henne, who was a college star too, would get a little press. but kolb being benched isn’t a big deal at all. he wasn’t a first rounder, isn’t a huge name from college and nobody outside of andy reid thinks he’s any good so why is he garnering this much discussion?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:28 AM
I wish my mornings started like this.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:28 AM
My hubby’s new theory: Theyre giving Kolb a few weeks of a break, showcasing Vick and hoping he does well so they can test the trade waters again. Remember they tried to trade him so they didnt have to pay that 5 mil over the offseason but there were no takers. There are enough crappy QBs starting out there that teams should be interested.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:28 AM
Because Michael Vick is 30 years old, takes a ton of hits, and I have no interest in being the Browns.
How is that not obvious to you, of all people?

I thought it looked good, but if you’re going to put it on during MNF, well then I’m not going to watch. The DVR was recording GG. If youre interested this season has been fantastic so far.
I was thinking the same thing about Lonestar there aren’t many shows that can survive going up against MNF especially a brand new show without a built in fan base.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:29 AM
Who was just re-signed to a large contract…
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:29 AM
Because they traded Mcnabb within the division so he could start. Its that simple.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:29 AM
It boggles the mind. People are acting like he was the #1 pick with $50mil guaranteed and face of the franchise. Hes a second rounder who in 4 years has mad $4 mil.
you’re leaving out the part where he refused to sign an extension unless he was named the starter, forcing the Eagles to do something, or let go all the time they’d spent with him, when they thought he was good enough. So they dumped McNabb, kept Vick, and went to bat with this guy.
What I really can’t believe is that the MikeNYC’s and tyduffy’s of the world aren’t writing screeds about how this guy hasn’t been given a chance, because he really, really, really hasn’t been given a chance. 1/2 of a game in which he got his brain scrambled?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:30 AM
cute but that doesn’t even begin to answer the question.
nobody outside of philly cares about this medicore backup QB the same way we don’t care about trent edwards or matt moore getting benched.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:30 AM
The person you mentioned sort of has a history that indicates he knows quarterbacks, if nothing else.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:31 AM
Spencer…it’s really not difficult to comprehend…Kolb getting benched is getting lots of press because Kolb was the SPECIFIC REASON that the Eagles traded McNabb. I get what you are saying, and don’t disagree…but you are ignoring the one big factor.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Mike Vick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Aaron Rodgers was a late first rounder who in 5 years made 7 mil. Remember all the pub around that? How is this different?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
My hubby’s new theory: Theyre giving Kolb a few weeks of a break, showcasing Vick and hoping he does well so they can test the trade waters again.
NFL trade deadline is October 16th, and they dont’ have another backup QB. Tell your hubby to get a new theory.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
if he’s a mediocre NFL QB, then yeah, given the dearth of QBs in the NFL. You’d may not believe this, but there’s a team who’s starting Jake Delhomme. That’s how bad it is.
no, i get that, i really do. and i can see why maybe someone like chad henne, who was a college star too, would get a little press. but kolb being benched isn’t a big deal at all. he wasn’t a first rounder, isn’t a huge name from college and nobody outside of andy reid thinks he’s any good so why is he garnering this much discussion?
you know what boggles my mind? that i can’t even think of the TT QB’s name the year they beat Texas with the last-second throw. of course they showed it in the pregame last week, and i remembered just how clutch that throw and catch was
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
i hate every scene with sally draper in it only because she is so miserable…i feel really bad for her. It seems like neither her mom or dad want anything to do with her
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
fair enough.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
After watching the amazing QB play in Week 2, I would bet there are more than a few teams that would take a flyer on Kolb.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
This is another question you know the answer to. Those franchises lack relevance, just like the Browns, for a lot of reasons.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Frank Gore thinks Hall handled that loss with class and dignity
No, it was some hilarious work but then showed deeper meaning later in the episode and how the characters reacted…she died as she lived, surrounded by the people whose phones she answered

September 22nd, 2010 at 9:33 AM
Garland, if you’re around, seems to be the same Leafs as last year on special teams. Can’t clear it on the PK, can’t start a rush on the PP. 0 for 8 is ridiculous on the PP.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:34 AM
Franchise QBs weren’t traded to make room for either of this clown.
Plus you also ignore the Vick factor…if Kolb was getting replaced by any other number of QBs, it wouldn’t be nearly as big of a story. Vick’s involvement immediately ups the ante.

It sucks. Betty didn’t even care that she left and Don wants to be a good dad, but knows he would suck at it. Carla needs to adopt her and be done with it.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 AM
No, the fact that McNabb’s best days were behind him and he wasnt worth the money was the reason. Derek Anderson could have been his backup and its still would have happened.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 AM
Yea he could not have done that anywhere else.
/Cardinals, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Cleveland, Tampa, Chiefs
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 AM
Graham Herrell I believe
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 AM

September 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 AM
nobody outside of philly cares about this medicore backup QB the same way we don’t care about trent edwards or matt moore getting benched.
Edwards is a known quantity (sucks) and Matt Moore was a best case scenario game manager/place holder. Kolb was being groomed by a QB guru.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:36 AM
LOL. Who else heard that drunk hillbilly on the lawn mower yell, “I think I crapped my pants!” after he got tased?

cute but that doesn’t even begin to answer the question.
nobody outside of philly cares about this medicore backup QB the same way we don’t care about trent edwards or matt moore getting benched.
i hope yer notreferring to media coverage. because we complain all the time about east-coast-centric coverage from the WWL especially, and then when they do notice what teams outside the beltway are doing you say who cares.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:37 AM
Because they traded Mcnabb within the division so he could start. Its that simple.
Yea he could not have done that anywhere else.
/Cardinals, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Cleveland, Tampa, Chiefs
You misread that YYSA. They traded McNabb (within the division, no less) so KOLB could start.
McNabb refused to sign an extension if he was traded to the Raiders. I don’t know about the rest of those teams.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:37 AM
Monast- When I get to work, I’ll link the GIF of her fall from Sunday. At least that was kinda funny. But yeah, I feel bad for her too. She finally has the outburst and says what she wants to and Don pretty much ignores it. I have a feeling we are going to get stuck with a Henry and Betty episode this week.
Butters- that line was funny, I’ll give you that. Just thought the whole croaking in the office was a little juvenile for a show that hasn’t really had a whole lot of that. Definitely had meaning for Cooper and Roger though.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:37 AM
The first part, yes. The second part, all glory to Megatron, is absurd.

No, the fact that McNabb’s best days were behind him and he wasnt worth the money was the reason. Derek Anderson could have been his backup and its still would have happened.
there’s only one thing stupider than this. And that’s “thissing” this.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Don almost seems to be on the cusp of asking her what the deal is.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:39 AM
i’m not so sure he does…the scene where Sally says “i hate it there” you see don give her a look like he would is concerned and I’m thinking we are finally gonna see Don act like a concerned father…instead he goes to the door and has Faye take care of what he see’s as an inconvenience.

September 22nd, 2010 at 9:42 AM
Kolb is getting attention because of who is replacing him more than why he’s being replaced… If Jeff Garcia was replacing him, the story wouldn’t be as big but it would be more about why.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:42 AM
excuse me? i haven’t said a single thing about mcnabb.
i just don’t get the big to-do over kolb. he hasn’t shown that he’s an NFL QB and vick looks awesome. what’s the big deal?

I’m not sure that’s it, I think he’s part of the “Vick is exciting!” crew. I always thought Spencer was better than the bright and flashy tag.
you haven’t read Spencer’s wikipedia page then. There’s a whole section there about how much he has always hated McNabb.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:43 AM
I watched The Event last night on DVR. I liked it. I’m intrigued. The pilot was better than Flashforward, so I’m hoping it won’t fade out like that shitshow.
The acting already seems better.

September 22nd, 2010 at 9:45 AM
I’m still debating whether or not to watch the pilot of Lone Star. I’ve heard good things, but with four million viewers and a clogged DVR me thinks I might be better off skipping it.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:45 AM
LOL. Who else heard that drunk hillbilly on the lawn mower yell, “I think I crapped my pants!” after he got tased?
i held back from mentioning it earlier, because it’s a nugget of pure gold, and I didn’t want to spoil anybody’s fun too soon. Hilarious. Especially when he’s then flailing around with his legs, i’m sure getting crap all over everywhere in his trousers.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:45 AM
If things do go bad with Vick I do look forward to the standoff he has with Philly fans.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:45 AM
oh well then. Still stupid to trade his ass to the redskins.
the NFC East has always traded within the division for some unknown reason.
i’d love to see Kolb starting against the Skins in two weeks. i’m borderline terrified of what Vick is capable of doing to a defense.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:45 AM
Yeah, Kolb had a poor concussed half, and Vick had a good game against the Lions. Almost as a good a game as Kolb had against the Chiefs last year.

I think aftet the rum French Toast they went exploring around the city and are enjoying each others presence…then she explodes and Don wants someone else to clean up the mess. Same theme within the workplace. He takes the credit for the award, but when bad things happen, Don goes bye bye.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:46 AM
I think Don believes Sally would be more comfortable talking to a woman than talking to him and that’s why he brings in Faye. Don doesn’t know how to handle women much less a little girl. Like that woman who found Sally said – the men never know what’s going on.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:46 AM
Game at Ford Field on Sunday I counted jerseys, which is something I always try to do. 5 Eagles Vick jerseys. 1 Kolb jersey.
Also, I don’t think there’s many Birds fans who are totally against this move after last week.

I really don’t know what or who you’re talking about. Free agent signings maybe, but trades?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:47 AM
The only thing weirder in last Sunday night’s game than a player tossing a helmet into the stands and a fan not wanting to give it back is that the fan was wearing a Pierre Garcon jersey. I didn’t realize they even made those. Maybe it was an Aaron Moorehead jersey.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:48 AM
and Vick had a good game against the Lions.
you’re forgetting the nice runs he had against the Packers D who was protecting a 17 point lead.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:49 AM
he’s playing with Hank Jr. in Little Rock on Oct. 9th, but I’m going to see Don Williams instead, it was a tough decision.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:49 AM
the NFC East has always traded within the division for some unknown reason.
I think there is a short history of trading up/down at the draft.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:49 AM
Either way, bravo to that guy.
There was one guy with Trent Cole jersey on Sunday, I wanted to hug him.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:49 AM
Kolb should demand a trade to Arizona. That would be neat.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:49 AM
I didn’t even know about that show until a friend texted me on Monday night. Unless I hear/read a lot about it in the coming days, I’m not going to bother. Mondays at 9 p.m., right?
Absolutely hilarious. I really don’t blame the police officer. He knew the guy by first name (so he’s obviously a multiple offender or trouble citizen) and politely gave him many chances to obey his orders. That drunkard was too damn defiant.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:50 AM
So, I just got an offer in one of my FFL. Mendenhall and NYG-Steve Smith for Andre Johnson. I would be getting Andre. Its a receptions league where you have to start 3 WRs and 2 RBs (no flex) and I have Best and McFadden as backups (MJD is my #1). Someone else is thinking about offering Mendenhall for Greg Jennings straight up. I’m thinking about taking either trade because I have too many solid RBs, but don’t know which one I value more.

I really don’t know what or who you’re talking about. Free agent signings maybe, but trades?
you’re right, my bad. “trade” was a poor choice of words. exchaning of players is what i was getting at.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:53 AM
I think there is a short history of trading up/down at the draft..
this I know about, but that’s mostly Philly, who is masterful at amassing mid round picks, dealing with the devil they know.
I can’t think of a single other player who has been traded within the NFC east. I’m sure I’m wrong, and that there have been some, but trading of a starting QB has already been noted as extraordinary.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:53 AM
Sally Draper GIF.
Why should I care what the Eagles front office does? It’s not my team, I’m only watching them play football for entertainment sake. Vick is more entertaining than Kolb. Why is that damning to someone as a football fan?
OT: Just got the option to move to a different office. It’s smaller than mine, still has a door, is in a high traffic area and it has a window. My current one is massive, NO ONE BOTHERS ME but lacks any natural light. Thinking about staying in my cave… but natural light sounds appeasing.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:54 AM
you’re right, my bad. “trade” was a poor choice of words. exchanging of players is what i was getting at.
that is true in every division, especially because the opposing teams have twice as much game tape on potential guys, and that you get double potential benefit of getting better and making the other team worse.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:54 AM
He’ll be demanding a trade alright. As soon as they fire Andy Reid. The upside for the Eagles as an organization here is minuscule. Let’s say Vick plays well the rest of the way, and they make the playoffs with him. His contract is up after this year, and they’ve got to pay him. What do they do with Kolb at that point? Trade him, I guess, but then they’ve essentially traded the best quarterback in franchise history for Michael Vick, which is pretty indefensible on every level. Now, if Vick doesn’t play well enough to keep the starting job, they’ve wrecked the confidence and any trust that Kolb had in the organization. Bravo all around, Eagles.

September 22nd, 2010 at 9:56 AM
That’s kind of what I meant. Don has this belief that girls feel more comfortable talking to women (even if the woman is a stranger) than they would with familiar men (or dads). That’s why he pushes Faye on Sally.
I’m really curious to see what happens with Peggy. I feel like she’s close to jumping ship soon.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:56 AM
jb49ers — Appreciate that. But I don’t believe it for a couple of reasons. One is that Paolantonio has lost all credibility. Two is that the offensive line didn’t play nearly as bad as people who just look at the six sacks statistic think they did.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:57 AM
Kolb is 26. He isn’t a long time investment, he is the present. If the Eagles thought he was good enough to play compared to the other guy, he’d be playing. They figured they’d be better off long term in age fact comparing him to McNabb. But age isn’t nearly the factor when comparing him to Vick. The organization looked at the tape and the tape don’t lie. They chose the better player.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:58 AM
don’t do it! I’ve been seduced by natural light and gave in to my lusts only to move to a smaller office in a higher traffic area. the natural light and view of trees outside did not make up for the reduced space and more frequent visitors.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:58 AM
Bravo all around, Eagles.
you’ve forgotten to mention Kevin Kolb’s agent, who netted 4% of a 12 million dollar deal that forced McNabb onto the Redskins.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:59 AM
You mean playing for the other team or jumping ship as is leaving SCDP?
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:59 AM
They do look slow. Even Versteeg was. Maybe the Leaf sweater has a power I don’t know about.
If anything at least they will have 3 solid 3rd lines.
September 22nd, 2010 at 9:59 AM
That’s almost exactly what I said last year. I think Reid believes the o-line dooms this Eagles team no matter what…better to fail with Vick, than with Kolb.
September 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Being in the same situation myself, there is no way I would give that up. Any other benefits besides natural light?
September 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Er, yesterday. Not last year. Heh.
September 22nd, 2010 at 10:01 AM
And then Kolb doesn’t play in 2011 because no one is. And then it’s 2012 and holy crap he was drafted six years ago.

September 22nd, 2010 at 10:09 AM
I think she knows she has it very good at SCDP and likes her job especially with the amount of responsibility she has. Her uneasiness comes from the fact that she wants the job AND wants to have a husband/family. This whole season has been a struggle with that for her as shown in “The Suitcase” when she stayed in the office instead of going to see her bf and family at the restaurant. The convo with the beatnik reporter hipster guy in the bar didn’t help things either seeing he was an ass and then wrote an article that wouldve gotten her fired.
