Matt Diaz Takes Down Jackass Fan at Citizens Bank Park
All, Baseball, Fans, Goooooood Morning Sports Hernia, Mental Illness, Video September 21st. 2010, 7:30am
Matt Diaz did the unheard of last night. The Braves left fielder earned a shocking but well-deserved standing ovation from the Philly faithful – a possible first for a visiting pro athlete who wasn’t being carried off on a stretcher – after he swept the leg of a rogue “red man” fan who was scurrying through the outfield with such impressive jukes, he caused a security guard to hilariously eat grass. If schedule permits, expect to see Diaz at Raw on Monday night. [via Crossing Broad]

love to know what security is thinking when chasing these guys around the field. is it moreso planning how they will beat the piss out of the guy behind closed doors or are they thinking man i look like a jackass chasing this asshole

Now, if Diaz would help us take down the Phillies…
September 21st, 2010 at 8:05 AM
stadiums should instal predator-like sniper tasers around the club level to deter these dumb fucks from running on to the field.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:06 AM
Red Man gave up his rights when he hopped the fence. Diaz made a citizen’s arrest when he swept the leg.

i’m sure there’s some sort of contract language contained in the ticket purchase that prohibits you from jumping the fence, and then also waives your right to sue if you do.
Otherwise Morgana would be rich off of sexual harassment suits.

It is like 45 degrees outside. Fuck all you sons of bitches who were complaining about it being too hot this summer.

I’m just going to fall on it this morning. I’m still digesting the revelation that Alex Smith is a real, live “we can win with you” NFL quarterback.

92 degrees here today. not complaining.
Diaz looked like a ninny here. should have just tackled the dude.

frost at my house. Summer’s been over for three weeks already.

Disagree. That’s the type of move that results in a freak season-ending injury during a playoff race. I thought it was slick, to be honest.

The best part of the whole video is when the bald guy chasing Red Man bites it. I laughed out loud when his face smacks off the turf.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:29 AM
It’s supposed to be 85 here today. Fuck that noise. I want autumn weather.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:30 AM
I could go for some frost. damn hay fever season.

is Singletary a similar coach, or is that a bumbling team he’s running? And can you call yourself a division winning coach if you win your division at 7-9?
September 21st, 2010 at 8:31 AM
sure, i can see where you are coming from. i just figure let security handle it, or actually subdue the game. not really trying to give the guy hell though.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:31 AM
well done, braylon.

September 21st, 2010 at 8:33 AM
I wonder if they made Braylon dougie as a sobriety test?
September 21st, 2010 at 8:33 AM
I’ll trade you. Was 88° not too far away from here yesterday. My body’s reset itself for Fall
September 21st, 2010 at 8:33 AM
then again, when I first saw the video, I was pretty sure I was going to see a badass Terry Tate-style tackle too.

I think he also fell on his keys. But the glasses are ruined for sure.

nice quickness Cleet.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:34 AM
Eh, I’m not sure about them being bumbling, I guess. Though I didn’t watch the Seattle game. The turnovers can be looked at individually. One was just a bad throw (the first) before Smith got it together. One was a freaky tipped pass and great play by the DE. One was a mental error on a punt when the wind was wreaking havoc (Bush had a problem just minutes before). And the other was a legit, coachable, you have to protect the ball fumble.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:35 AM
But does that mean Singletary isn’t a dolt? No, probably not.

does the fact that nobody on his whole defense understood that they were conserving clock, and he had to sprint to the goal line to get a TO?
Or that his defensive captain was spending that time posing for the cameras?
September 21st, 2010 at 8:43 AM
Ha. Had no idea any of that went down, I came back to the TV and highlights of Singletary screaming at the referee about a timeout were playing, I was wondering what was going on.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:44 AM
My take is this…Singletary is probably a good coach…but his own team doesn’t realize it, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

dude just demolished a FB on 4th n goal, he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
