holy shit that lady (?) Colts fan looks scary as all hell
September 20th, 2010 at 8:34 AM
sofia vergara. gma. now.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:35 AM
Kolb is starting.
/Vick looked REALLY good. It was Detroit, but still.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
TBL – must. have. screengrabs.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
continue my rant here? kevin gilbride is a moron. he let the colts dictate the entire pace of the game. i mean, did ya not just watch the game tape from a week ago? do you know bob sanders isn’t back there to move up in the box? and when he decided to run the ball, it was way too late. bradshaw would have had 150 yards in that game had they stuck to it. yes, the giants offensive line has got old the last two years, but a lot of their effectiveness has been taken away because the giants passing game used to be predicated off of play-action. when teams no longer have to respect the run because you don’t fucking run it, they can just sit back and let you play into their hands. you cannot let Eli step back that many times with Dwight Freeney just allowed to speed rush around David Diehl. seriously? WHAT THE FUCK?
September 20th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
Angelo Cataldi just got done giving a lecture on WIP (Philly radio) about how the ‘Skins lost because you can’t count on McNabb.
Cataldi fans should die in a pit of fire.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:38 AM
Is this good or bad for Austin’s on-field production future?
/life revolves around FFL right now
//Austin is my only WR worth a damn
September 20th, 2010 at 8:40 AM
and Perry Fewell, you asshat. Really, dime and nickel? Why don’t you just walk over to Peyton Manning and tell him your scheme, you idiot.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:42 AM
Coughlin – having that puzzled look on your face as if it was just bad execution is not being a head coach. don’t do the bobby ross thing and just blame the players. they certainly sucked (looking at you Michael Johnson, Brandon Jacobs and Osi Umenyiora). Fix it now, or scratch the name off your door, but you can leave the C for the next coach.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:42 AM
Sparty – know it doesn’t help this AM, but if Fewell had tried to pressure 18 and kept his LBs in the game, the Colts would have gone slant-heavy and eaten them up that way.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:44 AM
not saying zero blitz with linebackers, but don’t let a team pound the rock on you like that. especially one with such a shitty running game. i said i expected the giants to lose, but they were completely outclassed.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:45 AM
the only solace i take from yesterday is how bad the NFC East really is.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:45 AM
seriously…fuck that colts fan. give the dude his fucking helmet back, you asshole.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:46 AM
spencer: I liked your latest Flacco offering
September 20th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Aren’t they 2-0? Thank goodness for special teams
Sparty- can’t have ‘em all I guess, right? Gotta at least be pleased with your Saturday.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Lot of this going on in the NFL this morning.
/except of course for the soon to be champs
September 20th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
By the time the NBA season starts – when the Heat’s Big Three adorn every magazine cover – yes, the Heat will be immensely hated.
yeah but they are going to be fun to watch and a tough out in the playoffs. they will prob be one of the best defensive teams in the league too under Spoelstra
September 20th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Eh, I think the Giants and the Eagles could both be pretty good come November. Washington is good, though completely fucked if Trent Williams is injured badly. I’m too giddy about the Cowboys’ situation to offer an opinion.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:48 AM
I’m upset with the Colts fan for basically affirming everything that Duffy believes about Indy
September 20th, 2010 at 8:48 AM
the win was fanfuckingtastic. but now it is very much subdued.
/get well Coach
September 20th, 2010 at 8:48 AM

September 20th, 2010 at 8:50 AM
I defer the remainder of my time to Sparty.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:51 AM
domo fetch.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:51 AM
I can’t believe McNabb tossed for over 400 yards yesterday. The Redskins just couldn’t get out of their own way in the 2nd half. Gotta give them credit for at least playing well on D for about 6 quarters this season despite having an inactive $100M piece of shit for 4 of those quarters.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:51 AM
and the best thing about the NFC East is the redskins yellow pants.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:53 AM
The Lions game was a “sellout”. Yeah. Nearly every seat in the second level was empty yesterday. Huge swaths of empty seats.
The block party out front of Ford Field was done nicely, though.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:53 AM
And the Bears!
/YAY!
September 20th, 2010 at 8:55 AM
I’m too giddy about the Cowboys’ situation to offer an opinion.
my word isn’t giddy, but i’m in a similar situation. Speechless.
I like the Redskins yellow pants, too. I’m surprised the cowboys pants aren’t brown, since they all pooped them.
September 20th, 2010 at 8:55 AM
Saw this at the 7-Eleven on Saturday. Hard to believe she’s 30. Makes me feel old. Still looks amazing though.

September 20th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
Around. He was here last night
September 20th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
Pre-tay Pre-tay nice catch from Hester. It was also nice to see Peppers taking his usual personal timeouts on the sideline there as well.

Bengals or Raiders
September 20th, 2010 at 9:00 AM
So that Pigmalion woman in the 18 jersey scares me very much.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:01 AM
Yeah cleet. That was a nice catch. He and Aromashpoopoo switched roles yesterday. Hester got all the targets that he had gotten the week before. The defense is forcing turnovers too, mostly only rushing 4 guys. It’s hard to keep forcing that many TOs in a game but when they do, it gives the Bears a chance to win.
I’m cautiously optimistic. Still, special teams needs some work. For both my football teams.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:02 AM
I’m pretty excited to see this Colts fan video when I get to work.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:02 AM
How does one of the best WRs in the NFL get 1-on-1 coverage on 4th and 10?
one of the best? Andre Johnson is the best WR in the game. came back from ankle injury to make plays including that catch
September 20th, 2010 at 9:03 AM
I think its funny that the Jets defense got better after Revis left. I actually think Cromartie matches up with Moss better, hes taller with better top end speed.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:04 AM
I hope vezina didn’t put his mortgage down on that game. Tried to tell him…
September 20th, 2010 at 9:04 AM
Embarrassing day for the NFC East yesterday, but I’m sure that won’t stop Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin from shouting at me about how it’s the toughest division in football.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:05 AM
speaking of this, i don’t mean to toot my own horn, but i believe it was myself who was saying that the jets D matches up well with the pats.
moss didn’t do shit and WELKAH had 6 catches for a robust 38 yards.
/toots own horn
September 20th, 2010 at 9:05 AM
The only solace from yesterday: Dallas is also 0-2. Hooray!
September 20th, 2010 at 9:06 AM
Pats took themselves out of the game with their playcalling, same thing that doomed them last year. It was funny that it was the Jets who gave up on the running game and let the ball fly while the Pats tried to establish the run in the 3rd quarter. And if Cromartie had been officiated like Darius Butler was, we would not be praising his defense.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:07 AM
The amount of coconut oil in this man’s hair on the pregame show yesterday was enough to run a Mounds factory for a year. You could see your reflection in Mike’s hair.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:08 AM
Pats missing Josh McDaniels?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:08 AM
While that may be true, the Pats were moving the ball very well in the first half. They just played into the Jets defense in the 2nd. Their shitty defense didn’t help either.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:08 AM
Dork, can you really say that if Kolb is concussion-free you want him out there over Vick Sunday?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
was just reading here how the Jets disguised their blitzes better in the 2nd half (seemed to blitz less, but LOOK like they were going to blitz), and Brady was rattled
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2010/09/19/2010-09-19_mark_sanchez_throws_careerhigh_3_tds_leads_new_york_jets_to_2814_win_over_new_en.html
September 20th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
cleet, your secondary is a hot mess and will get lit up all year (when not playing Carson Palmer/Joe Flacco anyway). If the offense doesn’t get to 30 you’re probably not winning.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:10 AM
If the archives existed on this site you would see I said that all of last year. Look at the Broncos playcalling. Granted their personnel is not top notch but their playcalling keeps the defense off-balance. In short, fuck Pat Bowlen.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:10 AM
Couldn’t understand this. Way too many “ah what the hell, here ya go Randy” throws.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:11 AM
Didn’t have the mortgage riding by any means, but yesterday was ugly relative to betting. Only hit the KC game, and DAL cost me a 4 team teaser.
Steelers are somehow 2-0 without a regulation time TD from the offense and using our 4th string QB. The D has been unreal, and if they can get the win in TB next week they’re guaranteed no worse than a tie for first when they get someone who can actually throw the ball to run our offense.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:11 AM
I thought the Jets played well but I still think that INT review late in the game got it wrong. Thought the corner’s foot touched the line as he tried to tap his feet in. Didn’t think it would be overturned because the call on the field was he was out.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:11 AM
all i heard in that was “welker sucks.”
to which, i agree.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
I agree the secondary is in bad shape. They went away from McCordy all day, pretty high respect for a rookie. Let’s not forget the Pats number one corner, Leigh Bodden was lost for the year in preseason. In no way was Belichick planning on Darius Butler handling the number 2 receiver. Saying we have to get 30 is a bit much but the offense will have to take the pressure off of the D.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
Bears 2-0.
can a blogger get some props?
/too early
/GB 41, Bears 7 this week
September 20th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
To be clear, I wasn’t giving my opinion. Kolb is the starter, Andy Reid has made that pretty clear and he means it.
My opinion. I want Kolb to start the next game. I want him to play well. But if he doesn’t play well next week, I’ll be open to giving it to Vick. I’m not confident that is the right decision. But if Kolb stinks the joint up against the Jags this week, you have to worry about a “Coach versus the Locker Room” situation, where all the players want Vick. Potentially ugly.
Reid has been through these situations before. He’s still in charge in Philly, respected by the veterans, and runs a cohesive, competent organization because he handles them well.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
Agree. Lost nearly all my individual bets but managed to hit a parlay to basically finish even, up just a little. The Panthers cost me a teaser and the Pats cost me dearly.
Falcons, Colts, Chargers and Packers helped out.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
If the Redskins don’t win the NFC East McNabb and Shanny will have some splainin to do. The rest of that division is terrible. Except maybe Philly, I have absolutely no idea how good Kolb is.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
Calling Week 1 a win is laughable. I’ve yet to see any of Bears/Cowboys so I don’t know how much of it is Dallas shitting the bed. Cutler looked like he had a great game though.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
respected until, you know, the team cuts them before they’re about to get paid.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:15 AM
The entire division sucks. make no mistake. terrible.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:16 AM
Probably the best Cutler’s played for them, as expected the Cowboy rush was on him pretty good but he was getting the ball out quick and accurately…a nice cap to his career/life before Clay Matthews adds him to the hit list next Monday
September 20th, 2010 at 9:16 AM
Sportsdork- think you’ll see as much Vick mixed in as they did in the 1st half against the Pack? Or will Reid try to show Kolb he’s the guy by scaling Vick plays back?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:17 AM
I was screaming for them to bring in a fresh, offensive coordinator in the offseason but they didn’t. The playcalling they made in the preseason and against the Bengals gave me hope, but they faced their first good defense yesterday and made zero adjustments at halftime. Very disappointing.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:18 AM
If the Saints lose tonight or next week, the Packers/Bears winner next Monday night is the only unbeaten NFC team next week.
/contract the NFC
September 20th, 2010 at 9:18 AM
/provided the Bucs lose–oops
September 20th, 2010 at 9:18 AM
I’m pretty sure thats already the case. Hmmm, extremely talented 3 time pro bowl qb, or the weird non-cursing non-drinking mormon guy with 1 nfl win?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
This along with the Reds call…TBL has been on fire lately
Where is Imperial Wizard Mrejr after the VIck performance?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
Yes please.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:20 AM
He had nowhere to go with the ball. The Pats insistence no trying to establish a running game putting them in obvious passing downs killed them. I wouldn’t say he was rattled, that second INT was only made possibly by Randy’s knock of the ball up in the air while he took his casual Sunday stroll.

Butters – I think you’ll win but you want to do a Bears/Packers bet just to make this week fun? Gravatar, name change, you send me cheese curds, I send you a pizza or something of the like?
Packers are clearly better, so give me a chance by offering me 3 points.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:24 AM
The smart players understand the business. Guys like Sheldon, Hugh Douglas… you have to do what’s right for the organization. Sheldon got financial security for his entire life with a long-term contract extension very early in his career. It’s how the Birds work.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:25 AM
Martz effect
t’was wishful thinking (because everyone likes the damn Rays)
September 20th, 2010 at 9:26 AM
I have no idea. I was shocked how many plays Vick got early in the game against the Packers, so I really have no reason to think I’ll be able to predict how the game against the Jags will go.
Just glad Kolb is healthy. Vick took a few shots yesterday that made me think the Mike Kafka era was about to begin.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:28 AM
So what happens in the event of a push? Show some faith in your boys…you would look nice with a glorious Clay Matthews gravatar, I’d have to think on a new name
September 20th, 2010 at 9:28 AM
Where’s gods this morning to give his effusive praise of Jake Locker and his quarterbacking greatness?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:29 AM
Cutler looked like he had a great game though.
Martz effect
awful safety and inside linebacker play from Dallas, and haplessness from Wade about what to do with the center of the field once those deficiencies became obvious.
It’s the glue factory for Brooking, and a dumpster behind 7-11 for Bradie James.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
Maybe. But you also risk losing credibility if you make quarterback decisions based upon one half of football. After you spent the entire off-season — not to mention the previous three years — grooming one guy for the job.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
im here wiz and vick had a good game…we’ll see if he can sustain it or if it was because he was playing a poor defense….is kolb starting next week tho?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Lot of the usual suspects absent around here this morning, I guess everyone wanted to stay away after the Jets win?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM

September 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM
But you also risk losing credibility if you make quarterback decisions based upon one half of football. After you spent the entire off-season — not to mention the previous three years — grooming one guy for the job.
and traded McNabb because he forced you to, by refusing to sign an extension unless he was the starter. Don’t forget that part.
But it would be silly not to start him back, or they’ll just end up losing him for good.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
Well I’m sure you’re right, but like the NFC West, someone has to win it. And crazy as it sounds, the HC/QB combo I trust the most is Shanahan and McNabb
September 20th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
3.5, then? Otherwise, I’ll just say a push means we clink glasses and you enjoy being 3-0 and I’m 2-1. I’d like to have a fighting chance and not just GIVE away a bet.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
I was gonna say, if a tight end is torching you in a Martz offense, you may have middle linebacker issues.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
With him working from home now he doesn’t wake up until like 9 or 9:30 and then doesn’t put pants on until noon. Did McShay catch a lot of shit for how bad Locker was? I missed all the afternoon games on Saturday with Hawks training camp.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:36 AM
I thought Tomlin coached one his best games ever yesterday. The special teams call was obviously huge at the beginning of the game, but he also: 1)subbed in reserves on both lines liberally throughout the game to limit the effect of the heat – it’s not often all of your linemen play in the 1st half of a close game 2) game planned Chris Johnson beautifully by keeping the DE’s/OLB’s a little bit wider and dropping random personnel off into the cutback lanes.

September 20th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Didn’t even really register until now but yeah… wow, Steelers are 2-0. Only 2 games left Ben-less. Curious to see how they do in a divisional game.
That game was a huge trap for betting yesterday. I think the Titans were favored by like 5 or something.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
It’s never as good as you want it to be, nor as bad as you don’t want it be. Keep this in mind, football fans.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Well I’m sure you’re right, but like the NFC West, someone has to win it. And crazy as it sounds, the HC/QB combo I trust the most is Shanahan and McNabb
did you, or did you not, see that they gave away a game in which they were up 17 more than once, only to be beaten? It was proof positive that they aren’t good. That game was a 2 way proof. It proved how good the Texans are, winning that game after laying such a serious egg, and how bad Washington is, snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory.
And that field goal miss thing will destroy a kicker’s confidence.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
The arkbadger and illformula banter this week is going to be priceless.

That’s not how it went down.
@mrejr — Yes, Kolb is starting this week. Pressure’s on.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:42 AM
Hey, at least you guys gave the Colts’ coaches lots of good film to use to point out to their corners that they still suck this week.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
I did. And that’s why I prefaced it that it sounds crazy; but I trust Reid/Kolb and Phillips/Romo even less. And I think Washington is just better than New York. I agree with Sparty, it’s a tallest midget division.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
I don’t know if this play made the highlight packages last night or not, but it was impressive to watch Troy go Lavar Arrington on Kerry Collins.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:44 AM
As soon as I saw on Twitter that Wallace was starting I just rushed to bet the under.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:44 AM
Sooooooooo glad I stayed away from that game yesterday. Wanted to bet on Cleveland badly but turns out it was a wise decision to avoid them.
NINE Browns penalties? Wha’ happen?

Locker sucks. Strong arm, good athlete but…
1) Inaccurate and unpoised as fuck.
2) McShay is in love with him, therefore he sucks.
3) 1-12 vs. ranked teams. He was completing 50.1% of passes for 180 yards with 10 TDs and 10 INTs vs. ranked teams coming into that Nebraska game. Those numbers just got much worse.
He doesn’t have much around him, but that’s not an excuse for some of the trash he pulled on Saturday.

locker does suck, but he was going at it relatively alone against a nebraska defense that’s right there with alabama, florida and OSU as being the best in the country.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
True, but 4-20 is still 4-20 anyway you slice it.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
Love the Bruce Gradkowski sighting, fuck Jason Campbell.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
Nebraska’s defense is bad to the m’fn ass. But Locker was terrible. And he’s been just meh this season.
But it doesn’t surprise me McShay thinks he’s better than Luck or Mallet, considering it’s Todd Fucking McShay.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
Next Saturday is going to be the shit.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
If you’re supposed to be a high draft pick, you play better than that. But I’m sure that won’t sway Gruden when he lands on the Browns.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
that’s a cheap shot.
/and i want mallett
September 20th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
I’m done defending Campbell. Gradkowski’s where it’s at.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
Love the Bruce Gradkowski sighting, fuck Jason Campbell.
I found that jarring, for sure. I really didn’t expect that hook.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
Well, are we going to get this Iowa crushfest done and over with or what? I’ll say my piece and then let you have it.
Special teams played miserably and was really the part of the game I was most disappointed with. Blocked punt, missed PAT and a KO return for a TD are tough things to have happen and win a ball game. The running game being completely ineffective is 2nd on the list of concerns. Tough road loss but I want to hear no excuses from fans, players or coaches about the time zones.
The only thing that will irk me this week is if people try and lay the loss at Ricky Stanzi’s feet. He played 57 minutes of football that was good enough to win. The only complaint I have is taking 3 consecutive sacks when you absolutely cannot do that. The inexperience of the offensive line was on display there but the veteran QB has to at least throw one up and give his team a chance with 2:46 left in a game. The Rick-Six was a McNutt-Six… receivers had some drops problems at bad times.
Have at it. I’m upset we lost but not crushed by any means since it was non-conference.
/that was long
September 20th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
so do I. Cmon Vikes, go 0-16
September 20th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
I’d totally welcome this, if it meant Mallett and the end of Brad Childress.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
So this means you actually watched sports on Saturday?
Stanzi got cruuuuuuuuuuushed on that last drive.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
i mean, was it really that surprising? iowa isn’t that good.
/that jewel hampton block was AWESOME…
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
You know Childress has to be looking over his shoulder at Leslie Frazier at least six or seven times a game.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
The fact that Bucs could be even mentioned about something positive has me happy
Yep, already getting ready for the 20 point, 3 INT, 1 Fumble performance the Steelers will put on Bucs next week
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
I personally am anti-Gradkowski. The Pats have the Raiders first-rounder next year so more Campbell please.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
Scary thing is, it’s not anywhere near as good as it could/should be. Locker’s lone TD pass came on blown assignments by both the corner and the safety and the front four have yet to put together a very good game. I’m encouraged by the linebackers and the defensive backfield (apart from the play mentioned above) are lights out.
If Texas can’t run the ball and can’t protect the QB, that game will be over quickly.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
Good. It should have been Tomlin and now it should be Frazier. My only conclusion is that Zigi Wilf is a racist.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
or to see if jared allen and favre are taking turns faux-humping him to uproarious laughter on the jumbotron.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
I would love this. I am so glad I didn’t get to watch that shit-show yesterday.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
Freeman looks good, for sure. I wonder what it must be like having a good young QB.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
bsanders — Time to buy low on Garcon for fantasy purposes?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
I didn’t mind so much, since I’d taken the Fins and the points, but it was kind of depressing to see AD’s effort wasted like that. Dude was the best player I saw yesterday prior to the night game.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
At least not as good as once thought.
In fact, it seems like every conference is pretty much down or flat this year except for the top team (Bama, Nebraska, OSU, Oregon) being better.
This could create chaos again with not just a few but several (BSU, TCU included) undefeated teams at season’s end.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
I’m done defending Campbell. Gradkowski’s where it’s at.
Polish Hammer ftw!
If the Saints lose tonight or next week, the Packers/Bears winner next Monday night is the only unbeaten NFC team next week.
If Wendy had had a penis, she’d be Ronald McDonald.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
The vitriol was a spewing this morning against Chili. Worse than any point of the Denny Green era.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
Well, as you said last season, you can’t rely on luck and comeback to win every single time. They dug a deep hole, nearly got out of it but couldn’t stop Foles from driving the field. I have to give him credit because he did play a very solid football game.
I still liked the way the defense played overall. Giving them great field position all game isn’t their fault.
I was worried Jonathan Moxon was going to have to step in. It was not pretty there.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
The name alone puts him in the neighborhood.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
Could be. Gonzo’s likely out another two weeks, at least and they’re facing the Broncos next week and Denver just lost both its starting corners and has no Dumervil, which means Manning might have time to hit the deep ball. Garcon’s totally boom or bust, though.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
When do Texas and Nebraska play? Will that game be 6-3?
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
i was very impressed with Josh Freeman yesterday. he showed a lot of poise in the pocket against Carolina. 2nd year QB who is getting no love in the media
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
That KState game could be interesting, they have a beast RB
I emphasize could be
September 20th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
nope. wisky is typically underwhelming, iowa is fraudulent, michigan is a one trick pony…
at least OSU looks good.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Can’t help but think of his GF’s surprisingly awesome boob shot in season two.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
It was… but the word on him right now is NOT good. Brandon Wegher, please come home. We need you.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Freeman looks good, for sure. I wonder what it must be like having a good young QB.
you had the Bucs game? Maybe you have the ticket. I had the Minny game on CBS and Dallas on Fox.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
I still say OU is the best team in the conference. Lots of good running backs in the Big 12 for a change though.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
Oct. 16th. I don’t think it will be similar to last year’s Big 12 Champ game. Neither defense is as good as last year and NU’s offense is MUCH better.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
In fact, it seems like every conference is pretty much down or flat this year except for the top team (Bama, Nebraska, OSU, Oregon) being better.
+1.
I’d even go so far as to say that it’s Bama and OSU, then Nebraska and Oregon right now.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
Yeap.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
for real. if there is any team out there that seems to play down to their opponents on a weekly basis, it has to be Wisconsin. either that, or they just kind of suck.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
So you think Cody Green is transferring Dr Tom?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
As we all thought, best team in the conference talent wise. Still yet to step outside the Shoe this year so I want to see a road game for the Buckeyes.
Not taking anything away from them, obviously, because they’re very good.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
I said it on Sat before the Iowa game and I will say it again.. there is nothing in the Big 10 that should scare tOSU. there isn’t a team in that conference that will probably keep up with that offense alone and I doubt they get into many shot outs if the D keeps playing like it has been
September 20th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Butters said it last week but it bears repeating. John Clay does not look 100%.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:04 AM
I would agree but I don’t trust Landry Jones (terrible vs. AF last week) or Stoops.
I think we’ll learn a lot in two weeks when they play Texas.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
WTF happened in that game? They looked incredible against Free Shoes and all I saw was the box of the AF v OU game. But 27-24?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Weird team, they keep racking up yards but can’t score be it turnovers or whatever happened Saturday (I didn’t see the game)…Borland bring out for the season is a real kick in the dick as well, they’re losing at Michigan State in two weeks would be my guess
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Three 100 yards rushers on Saturday. Very impressive. I like Nebraska’s offense more than Texas. I’d be kinda worried if I was Texas.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
OU looks solid in that regard, but I’m a little skeptical. They haven’t left Norman yet and Air Force played them tough today.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
The Vikings scored 10 straight when I put the TV on mute and only watched sparingly while flipping to other games. Never fails.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Big shutout win for Army over your boys from Denton spencer. They said during that game that the coach from N. Texas had an ultimatum to win 7 games or get fired. He might as well call the moving vans in now.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
The only chance OSU has at losing is against Iowa. Iowa has to make it an absolute sloppy, boring slugfest like PSU has done in recent years. This causes Tressel to go uber-conservative and run the ball up the middle, punt instead of kick long field goals and kick short field goals instead of going for fourth and short.
But I’m fully expecting an Alabama – OSU championship game with a few other undefeated teams playing elsewhere.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
yea, texas isn’t looking very good right now.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
The Vikings scored 10 straight when I put the TV on mute and only watched sparingly while flipping to other games. Never fails.
I always forget to try turning the TV off. Yelling at the dog doesn’t help.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
neither does beating members of my family
September 20th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
They really struggled (Landry in particular) against Utah State as well. It’s not a good sign and might be a case of playing to the level of your competition.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Gilbert had, what, three picks on Saturday? He’s still learning. First big road game.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
It’s still early, if Clay can get right I can see Wisconsin beating them in Madison, as sloppy as they’ve looked
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Have you tried killing hookers?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Tough call. He’s still #2 behind a running QB that’s bound to get a little beat-up so he’s likely to see plenty of PT. But you never know.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
neither does beating members of my family
So you are saying I should stop kicking the crap out of my red-headed step child?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
False. Texas’ defense may be the best in the country. Scary good.
Re: Locker
I couldn’t project to the next level to save my life, but even I know Locker isn’t a first round pick. Nebraska exposed his ass Saturday. 4/20 with 71 yards? Are you fucking kidding me?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
True. But his O-line looks bad, the running game is non-existent as always, and the receivers look average at best right now.
Next three games are home vs. UCLA, vs. OU, and @ NU. So he’d better learn pretty quick.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
That’s just because Gradkowski played in the system last year with that offensive coordinator.
/MSM’d
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
I think he does. Martinez is only a rs freshmen and Nebraska has a stud coming in next year as well. If Green wants to start somewhere (and he has the talent to, I think) he has to leave. I do think Nebraska will need him for a game or two this year though.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
About time. Alternately I’m willing to give Cutler one more chance this year to show me he’s not a whiny overrated jack ass with a big arm and no brain.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
Gilbert is very average right now. The Texas offense in general is pretty average, actually. They are going to have to play lights out on defense every week. One bad game and they’ll lose. I think they could lose 3 games this year, though 2 is more likely.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
To early to tell right now. Talk to me after the OU game.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
Houston’s season is done…losing Keenum and the backup? Ouch
September 20th, 2010 at 10:31 AM
They held Texas Tech to 144 yards at home. That’s nasty.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
It was impressive, no doubt. But TT has a young O-line and not much running game. Let me see what they can do against a much more balanced (though not great) Oklahoma offense.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
By the way, if I’m a college in need of a coach, I’m overpaying for Muschamp right now.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:39 AM
I will say this though, if Texas can’t run the ball against Nebraska, I don;t see how they win that game. Nebraska’s secondary is insane right now. However, they have been susceptible to getting run on thus far, so that bodes well for Texas. I had hoped Compton would have been back for that game, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:42 AM
Will is amazing as a DC, but that doesn’t mean he’d be a great HC. I think he would, but it’s not a given. I will say that if UGA loses to Miss St this week, the Muschamp to UGA rumors will be flying as he played at UGA.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:45 AM
No Venables?
/never gets old
September 20th, 2010 at 10:49 AM
Ha! I highly doubt it.
It’s a weird situation in Athens. Yes, they’re 0-2 in the SEC, but they’ve lost to two top-12 teams (one in the last 15 seconds) with a first year QB and missing their best player. It’s easy to scream that the sky is falling, but I don’t think it is. Now, a loss this week may change my mind, but if they go 2-2 without AJ, they can still win 9 games. Florida, Auburn and Tech are the three games that stand out, though Tenn seems to be better than I thought on defense, but that game is at home, so that helps. If they can be 5-2 heading into Florida, this year is not lost.
