Better One-Handed Touchdown Catch: Devin Hester vs. Dallas or Randy Moss vs. New York?
Yes, Randy Moss beat Darrelle Revis and made a spectacular touchdown catch against the Jets, and everyone’s going agog over the reception. But wasn’t this leaping, one-handed grab in the corner of the end zone by Devin Hester of the Bears a better catch? After the jump, see video of Moss toasting Revis and leaving the best cornerback in football with a hurt hammy.

I want to say Hester, because he isn’t a natural receiver, but Moss went full speed and didn’t even bother trying to coral the ball. Moss.
/soon to be champs
September 20th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Moss. I think Revis’s pride was more hurt than his hammy and he begged out of the game as a result. Kinda sorta pulled his new RB’s old trick.

Moss catch was jaw-dropping ’cause he didn’t even attempt to use his left hand. Looked like a nerf ball.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Gotta go with Randy.
Hester’s was great just because it was Hester and you don’t expect that. Moss’ was pure athleticism, hand size and hand-eye coordination. It looked almost effortless.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
as for the catch yea Moss. that was beyond words.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Moss by a mile.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Moss. Not even close.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
make those gloves illegal. I am so sick of these “spectacular” catches where the ball sticks to the tacky glove.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Moss, always Moss.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
LOL, Jersey is that you?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Needs more Biletnikoff.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
Jim Leonard blew the coverage. Revis was expecting help deep.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
Kellen Winslow vs Carolina catch of the day. soldier
After the jump, see video of Moss toasting Revis and leaving the best cornerback in football with a hurt hammy.
how long does the “best cornerback” title last? he is off to a rough start this year
September 20th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
Moss
Hester catch was something you know only an NFL caliber WR could make and the degree of difficulty showed. While Moss was against the best CB in the league and made it seem like he was playing backyard football with as someone said “a nerf ball” When you make something that hard seem that easy, I’m going with Moss
September 20th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Moss for that TD…and Moss for that tipped INT late in the game.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Moss even though you expect that from Moss, Hester’s catch was nice because we expect him to not catch it.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
I’m a man of my word.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
Awesome Jersey, grats on the win yesterday.
Like everyone said, it’s Moss. Hester’s was great and I love my man from the U but not many if any receivers can do what Moss did.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
The full stride on Moss’s is the seperator.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Moss. I enjoyed seeing Revis go to the hammy once Moss caught it.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Brandon Jacobs will meet with Giants and ask to be traded, per the twitter. Who wants this guy? He sucks. Nothing makes me angrier than this pussy tippy-toeing around.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Yep, 5’4″ Jim Leonard was going to make a difference on that one.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Freeman getting away from those two defenders was equally as important and the fact that Winslow only played select downs because of his knee problems makes it even more impressive.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
Is there going to be a Jets or Revis post today? Don’t care because here I go…
Revis should feel like a total cock for having this hammy injury. This is what you get for sitting out and not getting into football shape during camp and preseason. First time you go hard, boom, there goes your hammy. Boo hoo. At least you got your guap.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
I was actually hoping the Jets would win yesterday because I didn’t think Jersey’s psyche could take 4 straight losses over a 2 week period. His face would have been on a milk carton in Paterson.

moss.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
The Jets looked great, especially in the second half.
/there, I said it
September 20th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Leonard hits like a freight train, so it’s possible.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Yep, 5′4″ Jim Leonard was going to make a difference on that one.
5’8 and he should have helped, one of the most underrated safeties with a blown coverage
/excuse me(progressive’d)
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Dude blooooooooooooooooooows…
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
I’m going with Moss, his catch was so good that it left Charles Woodson holding his hammy.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Moss, not even close. Didn’t even bother putting the other hand on it.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Completely accurate. After Liverpool lost yesterday morning, I was as quiet as I could be until the Jets game. No WOOOOing in the parking lot. Just sipping my beer. I really didn’t start getting excited until MexiGod (rip mierda, fun while it lasted) threw his first td.
And Braylon dougied!!! I lost my shit when I saw that.

September 20th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
Do you really believe that?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
This also needs to be said, Phil Simms is such a fucking high and mighty deuche. He acts like he is fucking all-knowing. Too bad he couldn’t translate that knowledge to his sons.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
MRI for Revis today. He’ll likely miss this week’s game. Per Bob Globber at Newsday on Spanning the Globe segment on The Herd.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
Hahahaha
September 20th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
Completely accurate. After Liverpool lost yesterday morning,
Berbatov’s goal was absolutely ridiculous.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
/there, I said it
Don’t be ashamed, they played lights out football in that second half. Much better D in Miami, let’s see if Sanchez can carve em up cause he looked Breeseque that game
September 20th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
Jacobs would have been a dominant back in the league, if he only hit the hole hard consistently. Very frustrating.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
I’m pretty sure he offered to suck Darius Butler’s dick.

Moss is just a freak. Hester’s effort should be applauded but… Moss.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:21 AM
Is that a real name? Sounds like the alter ego of some morbidly obese super villian.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:21 AM

Haters gonna hate.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:22 AM
phil simms is a fag.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:22 AM
And Braylon dougied!!!
Was yesterday’s game Braylon’s one-great game for the season? And can we expect him to be back to his usual best next weekend?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:22 AM
Ha ha. Yeah, I spelled it wrong. Just typed what came to my head. Then Googled him and found how to correctly spell it, as No. 45 says.

I’m about 30 percent actual belief, 70 percent it was really strained. Ryan has built dude’s ego into, well, its own island. Getting torched like that had to be a blow. Corners are supposed to have short memories, though.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:22 AM
That’s what Dougie’ing looks like? The More I Know…
September 20th, 2010 at 10:23 AM
HA! Which one?!
Ha, should have clarified – Bicycle kick, sick.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:23 AM
I was cracking up. It was worth the penalty for me
September 20th, 2010 at 10:23 AM
If this were Deadspin this cat would have one of those gold stars next to his name, for sure.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:24 AM
Imagine if the Jets had a Super Bowl MVP waiting in the wings
September 20th, 2010 at 10:24 AM
Haters gonna hate.
Haters gonna hate a guy that catches 5 balls (as opposed to the usual 2) for 45 yards. Should have gotten flagged a second time for taunting.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:24 AM
This is dumber than anything I have ever said. You have just hit a milestone, sir.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
people like you are why everyone hates the jets.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
can’t disagree here
September 20th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
It wasn’t a great Dougie by any means, but considering he just scored a TD and was in full pads, it was good enough.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
I retract. Two gold stars.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:25 AM
Braylon Edwards is a clown. he finally scores and has to act a fool. Cockery scored and does he do that shit? nope. no wonder he got ran out of Cleveland, what a fool
September 20th, 2010 at 10:27 AM
Didn’t Moss beat Revis deep earlier in the game as well? the only difference was the safety was playing over the top and hit him before he could pull it in still should have caught it though.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:27 AM
Sorry, forgot to add NTTAWWT
September 20th, 2010 at 10:28 AM
TBL and Jersey
Cro has to give you a heart attack every time a pass is thrown on his side right?
September 20th, 2010 at 10:28 AM
Boy, you guys just LOOOOOVE slamming Revis and not giving enough credit to Devin Hester. YOU try strapping those pads on and playing a full 60!
And what’s up with people making fun of Ms. Hideous McUglyFace in the previous post? Like you all are Men’s Health cover guys…

September 20th, 2010 at 10:30 AM
I’ve obviously missed out on a new commenter/meme. While cover of men’s health is debatable, I definitely don’t look like Zuckerman’s famous pig is a close relation of mine.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:30 AM

Ha, should have clarified – Bicycle kick, sick.
Motherfucker has to get his shit together against Liverpool. Fuck.

Think this was the Rolando McClain thread last night. Comment 67 is where it starts. Dude just walked into the party, told everyone they sucked (in a manner of speaking), then acted like everything else that we said to him or to each other “proved his point for him.”
September 20th, 2010 at 10:34 AM
Edwards and Butler were going at it with the shit-talk and oneupsmanship (word?) all day. He didn’t get flagged for the dance. He got flagged for shoving the ball in Butler’s chest.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:35 AM
Then hasn’t shown up since. Such a surprise there
September 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
Roethlisberger is on the Jets?
/he was robbed
September 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
My favorite move was after he was called out, he pulled the, “It’s ok for you guys to be snarky, but not me?”.
September 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM
The odd thing was that after the back and forth for several hours, some (apparently new) commenter came and blasted GrapeApe, and that was the last thing heard from either.
