Denard Robinson, College Football’s New Prince
There’s already a song about him on the radio. He was profiled in USA Today. ESPN has tabbed him as the most exciting young player in college football. He’s already got an iconic Heisman photo that is becoming a hot commodity in Ann Arbor. Florida coach Urban Meyer called him the best player in college football. Good luck trying to find his jersey for sale. Robinson’s scintillating first two weeks have Ohio State fans expressing mild concern about their six game-winning streak over the Wolverines. Michigan football is relevant again. The job of Rich Rodriguez, in peril in the preseason, is no longer a topic. It’s amazing what a shifty 19-year-old quarterback – he turns 20 next week – with 4.3 speed has done in two weeks for one of the most storied programs in college football history. [Photo via Getty]

God fucking damn it.
Not according to your readers. Come and get it, Mr. Dieck.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
Good. Maybe now we can get two posts a day about them.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
Need to see him play a stout defense before we crown him. He’s looked outstanding thus far, but I want to see him torch Iowa, PSU, Wisc or OSU.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
Oof, can’t say anything since I think I’ve sent in three links ever
September 16th, 2010 at 4:48 PM
My browsing habits reveal a deep love of Michigan football I didn’t know I had. Screw it, go Wolverines!
September 16th, 2010 at 4:49 PM
Good. Maybe now we can get two posts a day about them.
prob three now that they are relevant again
September 16th, 2010 at 4:49 PM
/the brainwashing is working
September 16th, 2010 at 4:50 PM
Tate might as well GTFO now.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:50 PM
He’ll do some work against Wisconsin’s defense, they’ve been ass against duel-threat quarterbacks for years…Juice Williams ran and threw all over them twice, TWICE!
September 16th, 2010 at 4:51 PM
The Robinson slobbering on this site is absurd.
As for this:
I highly doubt it…and this:
Let’s check back when they are 7-6 at year’s end.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:52 PM
Sportsdork, that’s solid investigative reportage! To put the Phil Davison spin on it, I believe the problem we have in the TBL (and my fellow commenter sportsdork has told me this to be the case) in regards to Michigan: INFESTATION!
September 16th, 2010 at 4:53 PM
I don’t think Ohio State fans are particularly concerned but Robinson’s pretty fun to watch
September 16th, 2010 at 4:53 PM
Scoreless in the second half until the last fucking drive. Fuck. Fucking fuckity fuck. Fuck life.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:54 PM
So he did take a dump after lunch today?
/connecting the comment dots.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:54 PM
I don’t mean to threadjack but is anybody else excited for 3D action film Paradise Lost?
September 16th, 2010 at 4:54 PM
OK, this is getting a little ridiculous.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:55 PM
This post could have easily filled the Michigan quota today instead of the one about… gasp… lights at the stadium.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:55 PM
Maybe he can save the Jets when Mark Sanchez is out of the NFL in 2 years.
/connecting the TBL dots
September 16th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
They’re good now. Quota went up.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
This one goes out to Mr. Robinson.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
Denard Robinson will never do what Jon Vaughn did.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
I don’t think you’re up to speed on the Michigan quota, KC. It’s pretty high right now
September 16th, 2010 at 4:56 PM
Weren’t people hyping Forcier for Heisman after his quick start last year?
September 16th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
Notre Dame and OSU have comparable defenses, so I agree with this post.
September 16th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
Shhh, Dr. Tom, we don’t want people to remember the 4-0 start from last season that still ended with no bowl
September 16th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
holy fuck that KSK post was funny
September 16th, 2010 at 4:57 PM
It’s a shame that some SEC schools aren’t “relevant” with all the national championships and all.
/unless somebody from Florida gets arrested
September 16th, 2010 at 4:59 PM
Is that the one where in the Notre Dame game, a much hyped young QB led a late scoring drive to win the game?
September 16th, 2010 at 5:00 PM
You all know I love my Michigan football.
But these type of posts and attention are the shit that get guys like Robinson clowned the first time he throws a pick or fumbles, or his team loses. TBL is breeding hate here.
Robinson is going to play poorly at times. I think that’s obvious, considering he’s a sophomore and this is his first year as a starter.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:00 PM
I’m surprised Jon Brantley’s gone unscathed here, you’d think the Tebow devotion would lead to shitting on his replacement who hasn’t looked good at all
September 16th, 2010 at 5:00 PM
FUCK.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:01 PM
A little fiesty today, lefty.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:02 PM
And the “look at last year’s start” crowd is the same group that either a) blindly hates Michigan or b) doesn’t watch much college football.
This program is in a much better place now than it was last year at this time.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:03 PM
Yeah, my work computer is a large piece of shit, and it runs at about half the speed of smell, and it’s pissing me off today.
/stand by my comment
September 16th, 2010 at 5:03 PM
I have an idea…let the kid beat somebody worthwhile before kissing his ass.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:04 PM
Man you’ve gotta go with “let’s not start sucking each others dicks just yet” in this situation.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:04 PM
I’m surprised Jon Brantley’s gone unscathed here, you’d think the Tebow devotion would lead to shitting on his replacement who hasn’t looked good at al
Let’s wait on calling him teflon Jon until he has another shitty performance. If he does, the hell hounds may well be loosed upon him.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:05 PM
Fuck Michigan
/spencered
September 16th, 2010 at 5:05 PM
Good night sweet prince.
Rich Rod, you fucked it up!
Nothing is fucked here, dude.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:06 PM
It’s becoming like the MSM in here.
Instead of finding a great player or team in the “hinterlands” who deserves the attention and hype, they’d rather be lazy and try to shoe-horn some “Michigan/Notre Dame/(insert team here) is back” storylines two weeks into the season because it’s easy and you don’t have to cultivate your audience.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:06 PM
With no real rooting interest I hope both Michigan and OSU are undefeated come Nov. 27th for my own personal entertainment.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:07 PM
God damnit, Around the horn just caught me off guard with the Leonard Weaver injury.
/That’s what i get for watching around the horn
September 16th, 2010 at 5:08 PM
I’m surprised that Notre Dame recruiting didn’t get a post today.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:10 PM
I’d be more outraged but I can’t think of anything else worth posting about today…previewing Jake Locker’s next big stage fail on Saturday maybe?
September 16th, 2010 at 5:10 PM
A non-Duffy, positive article about Michigan! I think everyone’s goal should be to Duckworth this post before Spencer arrives.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:10 PM
I’m surprised that Notre Dame recruiting didn’t get a post today.

September 16th, 2010 at 5:11 PM
ND recruiting coup was gonna be a 1-liner, and it’s getting pushed to tomorrow
September 16th, 2010 at 5:11 PM
God I hope they play rock that body!!!
September 16th, 2010 at 5:12 PM
Tuitt?
September 16th, 2010 at 5:12 PM
This is an oddly modern choice…Chubby Checker turn them down?
September 16th, 2010 at 5:13 PM
I’m surprised that Notre Dame recruiting didn’t get a post today.

September 16th, 2010 at 5:13 PM
Barry Manilow was busy.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:14 PM
The DE that UGA didn’t want?
September 16th, 2010 at 5:14 PM
Replace “Denard Robinson” with “Tate Forcier” and “2010″ with “2009″ and I’ve read this before.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:15 PM
It’s Michigan day? I love Michigan days. Only complaint is there aren’t enough Arkansas days.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:17 PM
The DE that UGA didn’t want?
Oh thanks. Appreciate it.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:18 PM
/see you in the training room in a few weeks Nard Dawg.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:23 PM
That is false. They offered him.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:23 PM
I was just fucking with you. He’s supposed to be pretty good.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:23 PM
Cameron Heyward is Ironhead’s son? I did not know/had completely forgotten this.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:26 PM
Indeed. I think Tech thought they had him.
September 16th, 2010 at 5:34 PM
Because he said they were his leader for like 6 months and then one visit to ND changed that. I bet his recruitment is far from over.
September 16th, 2010 at 6:24 PM
Another Michigan post??????????
Nice.
September 16th, 2010 at 7:01 PM
Hardly.
I think you’re jealous considering that shitshow at your team’s QB position.
September 16th, 2010 at 7:11 PM
Nice to see this bull shit offered up when everyone was leaving work.
My thoughts?
Nice 2 weeks, Denard. Don’t pull a Tater Tot and become irrelevant by week 6.
The defense still sucks, badly. UM would have lost by 2 TD’s if Crist didn’t get hurt and missed 2 quarters. They have walk-ons who play full time in the secondary.
Oh, and Michigan was 4-0 last year.
/2490 days’d
September 16th, 2010 at 8:00 PM
Man, can you imagine how sweet the posts would be if any of the writers actually liked a team that was worth a shit? Jesus, Michigan and the Jets. Might as well be Rutgers and the Seahawks. Except Rutgers and the Seahawks have been relevant during the writers lifetimes, so—bad example.
