Way back when I had the poster from The Daily Show book of Bush and Kerry boxing hanging on my bedroom wall. One night I took an Ambien my mom had given me, not knowing you were supposed to go right to sleep. An hour later I’m melted into my couch watching them fight it out on the poster. Good times.
Also I don’t get why they mention the other campuses at PSU. Nobody is signing on because they can take classes in Erie and Altoona.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:08 AM
Oh that’s not football recruiters, nevermind.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:09 AM
Good thing Kellen Clemens agreed to that pay cut.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:09 AM
I don’t have enough poise to make a good comment.
/Saints fans slept well last night
September 14th, 2010 at 8:09 AM
Then why was Rondo (Nike) passed over for Rose (adidas)? Nothing like sour grapes from a jilted me-first player. Very similar to Gilbert Arenas and the Redeem Team.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:12 AM
Wow, just saw this. Nice wording, Paolo.

#1′s got one long neck.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:21 AM
Ugh. I usually go to Wendy’s or Steak n Shake. Hardees for brekfast. McDonalds just makes me sick
September 14th, 2010 at 8:23 AM
In college I worked at Hardees, and this was like right after they switched from chicken to Thickburgers. Myself and three of my friends were the night shift and nobody really ate anything but breakfast there, so we did fuck all. Eventually we convinced the breakfast crew to leave all the extra biscuit dough for us instead of throwing it away. Getting lit then making a pizza sized bacon egg and cheese biscuit for the four of us? Outstanding.

Ow! Got it bad,
Got it bad,
Got it bad,
I’m hot for teacher!
I’ve got it bad, so bad
I’m hot for teacher!
September 14th, 2010 at 8:24 AM
disturbing:
don’t click that one. It’s truly awful.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:25 AM
Hahaah. Our Hardees for some strange reason is open on Christmas Day, in a town of 14,000. I would love to see how many people actually go there, but I never go out on Christmas Day.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:26 AM
After I quit Hardees I went next door to Lonestar and worked there, we weren’t open Christmas, but restaurants make a fucking killing on Christmas Eve. Would assume Christmas does pretty well for fast food places that are open considering the number of people out early buying fucking batteries.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:28 AM
Hardees? do those still exist?
people watching at Starbucks while my car gets an oil change. listening to moms rant is always funny.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:29 AM
Man, the #s are so similar between the 2 monday night games, except two categories, turnovers and penalties.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:29 AM
True. I hope I never have to work on Christmas Day
September 14th, 2010 at 8:30 AM
Yeah man they still exist, they do a killing on breakfast. Definitely better than McDonalds especially if you don’t care about living past fifty.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:30 AM
Sure do. Though I guess in other places it’s Carl Jr’s.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:31 AM

mmmmmmmm Hardees Prime Rib Burger.

that crappy coffee tastes like used motor oil, so you have empathy for your car.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:32 AM
so Americans are getting dumber. Good to know.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:33 AM
Rafa on the Today show–
Robert Plant on this half hour too.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:33 AM
Yeah Carl’s Jr bought them around the turn of the century. Midwest and South = Hardees. West = Carl’s Jr.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:34 AM
fixed
September 14th, 2010 at 8:35 AM
Nadal’s most prized possession?
his little arm? Because otherwise, his big arm would be so lonesome.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:35 AM
Hardees breakfast
loaded biscut is mawney
September 14th, 2010 at 8:36 AM
Man Hardees used to have Hershey milk shakes too, then they changed to a cheaper ice cream a few years back. I’m telling you, if you smoked weed in college, Hardees was the place to work. Hershey’s pumpkin pie ice cream for the holidays? Fuck yes.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:36 AM
I live a hundred yards from the Hardees I used to work at. I took an upper decker there once for seven dollars, then bought breakfast with it (long after I quit).
September 14th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
you suck.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:38 AM
This Feburary.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:38 AM
Starbucks coffee always tastes burnt. Dunkin shits on it, then makes love to every woman Starbucks has ever loved. I don’t even drink coffee and I know this.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:39 AM
Bathroom terrorist.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:39 AM
my experience is the complete opposite. Dunkin’s coffee is gross.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:40 AM
starbucks coffee is a disaster
September 14th, 2010 at 8:41 AM
not going to agree to this. Dunkin Donuts coffee is very good, but I love Starbucks.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:41 AM
Not surprising seeing that Jersey Shore was on before. I do think its compelling to see the huge boost in NFL ratings. Not sure what is behind it and think it would make for a pretty interesting post. Have heard the recession card being played, but don’t think that accounts for it.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
all you people bitching about starbucks and how it taste, sound like girls and trey in high school who refused to drink beer. pussies.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
i’ve probably just got a bad dunkin’s near me that leaves the coffee on to long.
i do like their milky way hot chocolate, however.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
Like every other HBO show that went to basic cable. I remember the bidding war over The Sopranos that A&E “won” for a whopping $2.5MM an episode.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:44 AM
I do think its compelling to see the huge boost in NFL ratings. Not sure what is behind it and think it would make for a pretty interesting post.
I doubt you could say it was one thing, but a few factors are how boring the baseball races have been, how much quite a few Americans hated having soccer shoved down their throats, and how many of the big viewership teams/players got prime time spots.
I’m just spitballing here.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Their drip coffee is just not good. Caribou’s, on the other hand
September 14th, 2010 at 8:46 AM
the cost of going to the games versus watching from home for a fraction of a cost is probably the biggest driving force. HD TV’s, DVR’s, red zone, NFL ticket…cheaper food and beer.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Illformula week 1 pick em winner
I pretty much shit the bed, however, I’m well ahead of the 5 people who didn’t enter picks (and Jersey Yo).
September 14th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
True, which is why I think it would be an interesting post. Boring baseball races and soccer stuff don’t account for >50mil watching the NFC Championship Game last year though. If I remember correctly, that level of viewership was quite an outlier in terms of NFC Champ Games.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:48 AM
i just track the DC hipsters to the hole-in-the-wall coffee shops around the city. those places tend to have the best dark blends, IMO.
and if there’s one thing hipsters know, it’s coffee and cigarettes.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:50 AM
Agreed, on a normal Sunday, but wasn’t the Thursday Night game the highest rated opening game of all time? People watching in spades in the Northeast didn’t forego their Saints tix to stay at home.

September 14th, 2010 at 8:52 AM
quote fail
September 14th, 2010 at 8:52 AM
obviously, you want us to say Brett Favre, so I’ll just say it. Those ratings are all Brett Favre’s doing. He’s America’s best friend. The guy they’d most like to catch a touchdown from, and share a painkiller with.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:54 AM
the opening game is definitely an outlier compared to what we will see the remainder of the season when it comes to primetime games. i think in terms of the opener one of the largest factors is that it went up against reruns and it was two high profile teams, which don’t always play on the primetime before the flex scheduling begins.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:55 AM
I think I used to drink Starbucks because I swallowed the whole “it’s Starbucks” thing. Now for coffee, I only drink 7-11. When I go to Starbucks it’s for their other drink concoctions which are pretty good.
/Venti-Vanilla-Soy-No Water-with whip-Chai FTW
September 14th, 2010 at 8:55 AM
Haha – those were the two games off the top of my head, but obviously ratings have been through the roof for other non-Favre games.
You may be on to something though…
September 14th, 2010 at 8:55 AM
The Lost Levels were ridiculously hard.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
Yeah that’s the only one I ever get if I happen to get dragged in one as I don’t drink coffee.
Love Caribou though, there’s one right next to my parents’ house in Charlotte and they have awesome fall and winter coffees that I will drink.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
that’s funnny to me, because I started to go to Starbucks for the espresso bar drinks. now i only go for the drip.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
Diablo Cody??? Am I missing something or is that not the worst name? Who names there kid after the devil except Mexicans!
September 14th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
Yes yes it was. And with Princess, USA SMB2 was ridiculously easy.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:58 AM
Caribou is the best by far. I would pay them to put one in Philly, but I’ll take Wawa over Starbucks and DD any day.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:58 AM
Re: Eagles and concussions. Catching a lot of heat (rightly so). The Westbrook situation last year was tough. Don’t think anyone remembers this D-Jax quote late last year, though.
Yeah, not good.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:58 AM
I was laughing at this and then saw you went with an exclamation point and started laughing even harder. Granted I’m high as shit, but still.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:58 AM
J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets! Today’s gonna be fun.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:59 AM
I went through SMB2 using Luigi on every level just to prove a point. Reading that article makes me want to bust out my old Nintendo and play all the old shit, TMNT, the Marios, the Zeldas.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:59 AM
gesundheit
September 14th, 2010 at 9:00 AM
Not as hard as this.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:00 AM
I never had a Nintendo so I didn’t get to play them (as my own game, played at friends’ houses naturally) until Super Mario Allstars came out for SNES. That is one of the best compilation games ever. Played it so much my senior year of college when randomly my roommate had an SNES.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:01 AM
It’s good to be in a state where there are Caribous just about everywhere
/coffee, not animals
September 14th, 2010 at 9:02 AM
The biggest gripe I have with Starbucks is the cost. I just can’t wrap my head around $4 for a coffee. Although, I probably pay for less than 5% of all the coffee I drink.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:04 AM
If all you want is a coffee it’s not $4, about half that.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:04 AM
i saw somewhere the caffeine content of the starbucks drip is 330mg for a grande and the recommended limit for adults is 400mg per day.
not sure what this brings to the discussion, but i thought i would throw it out there.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:04 AM
Cowboys/Racists had the highest overnights in the history of Sunday Night Football.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:05 AM
Trivia: SMB2 wasn’t originally a Mario game. They were desperate to release another Mario game after the overwhelming success of the NES, so they took an already developed Japanese game and replace the sprites with Mario characters.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:06 AM
a cup of coffee doesn’t cost that much. a mixed espresso drink does. there is a slight difference, but no gigantic savings going to dunkin donuts vs starbucks for drip coffee.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:06 AM
See that’s why I don’t drink it. Same reason I don’t do cocaine: I have no interest in something that jacks me up, I’m one more decision awake from Farley/Belushi at that point. And I rarely actually feel the impact of caffeine so I know it’s doing damage to my body but I’m not getting the pick me up. Fuck that.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:06 AM
that would make sense, i hated that mario game.
loved mario 3 though.

September 14th, 2010 at 9:07 AM
And they were up against the VMA’s!!!
September 14th, 2010 at 9:07 AM
All this mario talk kind of makes me wish I bought a Wii instead of an Xbox.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
i’ve had to cut back in the past week or two on caffeine intake, too much coffee in the AM, when i had a can of coke in the afternoon with my lunch it had some scary effects on my evening workout.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
Yeah I’m sitting here staring at my 360 wishing I could get all those games on there.
Still haven’t played any of the Mario platforms on Wii but I really want to play Super Mario Bros Wii. Considering everyone in my family but me has one I should be able to pull that off at some point. The whole “dad buying a wii to fix relationship with kids” thing is really odd to me.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
Interesting. I guess I’m a slave to marketing campaigns then. Being from New England, there was only Dunkin Donuts, so to me Starbucks was the expensive hipster coffee from the West Coast.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
Cowboys/Racists had the highest overnights in the history of Sunday Night Football
Yessir! That was the loudest i’ve heard FedEx stadium in the 10-12 games i’ve watched there.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:10 AM
So go buy a wii. They’re relatively cheap

I flipped the TV on, and ended up seeing the 9000th preview for Detroit 187. That show doesn’t look good, but it sure is being heavily promoed.
Also, by the time I got the TV on, no more Inez Sainz.

September 14th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
And buy the Super Mario Galaxy games, they’re effing awesome.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
Battletoads?
Spent all my cash on hookers and blow to get over the Miami-OSU game over the weekend.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
YES!
Battle Toads for SNES was insane, had the best graphics aside from Donkey Kong Country. The repelling levels were phenomenal.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:12 AM
Do you really want to buy a crappy system just to play one good game? If you want to play Mario Bros, get a DS and New Super Mario Bros.

I really should actually, you know, play SMG2 here soon. Bought the damn game in June, haven’t turned it on yet.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
did it work?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
Too many people already crowning Rafa. Long way to go.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
Nope. But when the holidays roll around I’ll be playing the Wiis at all their houses is what I mean.
It took me until a year ago to finally buy a 360. And I STILL haven’t beaten Arkham Asylum. I get too scared.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:15 AM
Only games I have for my xBox are COD: MW2 and Halo 3. Not planning on buying a new one until Castlevania comes out next month.

I uninstalled Chrome back in the day when it kept crashing on Gmail. Way to make your own products work together douches.
Does it have adblock yet? No point switching until it does.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:16 AM
Long way to go to what? He’s #1 in the world, easily. Even if Federer would’ve beat Djokovic, he’s getting smoked by Nadal. Career grand slam now, guy’s been able to craft his game to every surface. You can count the guys who’ve been able to do that on one hand. He’s one of the best ever.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:16 AM
I woke up this morning at like 4 and watched it again on DVR. Holy fucking shit do the Jets look bad on offense.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:16 AM
When I thought I was the king of Finlandia wearing only my purple robe and perched upon the great white horse Tatalia (hooker named Wendy) the loss no longer bothered me, but the feeling was only temporary.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:17 AM
Too many people already crowning Rafa. Long way to go.
career grand slam by 24, and he can now beat everybody playing on any surface? He’s pretty good.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:17 AM
Hopefully Mark Sanchez can have a better career than Jamarcus Russell.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:17 AM
I don’t really know anyone other than kids and people who never played video games before who like the wii. The number of bad games is just so high.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:17 AM
I’ve been going over this in my head the past few weeks, ever since I saw the Goldeneye trailer. Between that, the two Mario Galaxy games, and all the old school stuff, it’s getting harder to talk myself out of it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:18 AM
the stupidest fucking “celebration” of any big time athlete is nadal biting his trophy. it’s so stupid, so contrived and not spontaneous, and frankly, it makes me want to kick the trophy to knock out one of his teeth.
i fucking hate european athletes. fuck them.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:18 AM
Lots of steroid rumors about that one.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
i would almost also wonder how they would look if they played a better offensive team as well. They did screw themselves over with all the penalties, but that’s from playing with so much intensity. can they keep that intensity up and not get flagged in the same manner throughout the season?
i’ll save the rest for the jets post. hope it’s more than a quick hit post.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
What’s anyone know about the Playstation Move? Is it Wii with better graphics?
Here’s hoping it pushes Wii games into better graphics too…
September 14th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
she was kind of laughing about getting the phone calls from NFL security. dont think her lawyer wanted her to do that interview
I wonder if they’re going pretend she’s not a gag reporter when they sue.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:19 AM
Yes it does. I’m a Chrome convert since it’s a lot faster and now has most of Firefox’s extensions to play with.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:20 AM
Blake Lively on Regis shortly. Nadal on right now.
Knee-jerk. It’s the only way to do it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:20 AM
Rafa is more dominant now than Fed ever was. Why? Because Fed never had Nadal’s number. I’ve been a huge Fed guy for a long time but it started to dawn on me that you really can’t be the best ever when one of your opponents just absolutely owns your ass. Plus there isn’t a Nadal for Nadal like he was for Federer. Federer is on the down slope and there isn’t anyone right now who can really knock Rafa off his game like he did for Fed.
Watching Nadal play is making up for not getting to see Laver play (except in the ridiculously badass old matches they show on Tennis Channel).
September 14th, 2010 at 9:20 AM
wonder if Ray Murda gets his own post today. what a game. loved what his coach had to say about him in the post game presser
September 14th, 2010 at 9:20 AM
all of this, except the Fed getting smoked by Nadal part. If he stays healthy he’ll destroy the grand slam record
September 14th, 2010 at 9:21 AM
I’m ready to crown Rafa as the best ever. Yeah, he’s seven behind Roger, but has dominated him head to head (yes, I know most were on clay). If you’re vegas, what would your o/u be on Rafa’s career slams at this point?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:21 AM
Gotta let us know if it’s a 5 or 6 head this morning, TBL.
Still the oldest looking 23 year old “actress” ever. I thought she was 30 the first time I saw her a few years ago.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:21 AM
i’ve been thinking about getting it. i didn’t want to lay out the cash for a wii when i know my wife and i would play it for a week then forget about it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:21 AM
It’s not knee jerk. Watch the man play tennis. The argument can be made that nobody has been better than he is right at this moment.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
People hold Sampras and Federer in such high regard, yet Rafa won on his nemesis surface at age 24. He’s got 9 Slams already, unbeatable on clay when healthy, and R-Fed’s sun is setting. He deserves the few days of praise he gets in ‘Merica.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
Agree with that but it’s not like there’s anybody else out there who IS a good matchup for Nadal. That left handed serve effs up EVERYone.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
Phillip Rivers is a shitbag. Out there yelling at everyone like its not his fault that hes skipping balls to guys. Try throwing the ball better you overrated ass.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
Yes. But not the, yet. Cowlishaw was being superfluous last night, as was Johnny Mac. Concern for his health is what I have, not his talent. Guy plays tennis like Iverson played hoops.
Mole mentioned no major surgeries which is good but his knees take a beating in every tournament he plays. See if he withstands test of time.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:22 AM
This. I don’t see any Rafa coming up that can take slams away from him like he did to Federer.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:23 AM
Trust me, you will not be happy. Me and my brother both returned our Wii’s after buying one. Controls are horrible and other than Nintendo, all the good developers are putting their best stuff on the other consoles.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:23 AM
Yeah but they’re even on hard courts and Federer is up 2-1 on grass. Federer stood no chance in hell of winning the US Open. Nobody else did either.
Will not be the least bit surprised if he pulls off the true slam next year.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:24 AM
Comment 121 said it all as I was about to type this. He has beaten everyone on every surface. The only thing I would hold against him (and keeping me from crowning him) is that he hasn’t had a stretch like Fed-Ex had from 2004-2007.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:24 AM
Plus there isn’t a Nadal for Nadal like he was for Federer.
but there still might be. There wasn’t for Federer in the beginning either. He just wrecked shop against a bunch of guys who absolutely could not hang.
Nadal also has the disadvantage of having come from clay, and learning to win on two other surfaces, and therefore conquering hardcourts last, since hardcourts are where two majors are played a year.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:24 AM
Yeah that point was more toward beating the total than his status.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:24 AM
It’s Norv’s fault.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:25 AM
You mean the dozens of drab, colorless, interchangable first-person shooters? Or the one trick pony “horror” games? The Nintendo developed games are what would make it worth it for me.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:25 AM
Federer is always going to be better than Nadal though unless there is someone who can challenge Nadal. Djokovic is a good player but he should not be the #3 guy in the world. Fucking Sam Querrey and Mardy Fish are on the doorstep of the top 10 for fuck sake
September 14th, 2010 at 9:25 AM
Also, the heavy topspin to righties’ backhands. It’s why he has Fed’s number.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:26 AM
I accidentally took wayy too much melatonin last night to sleep. Gahh, I need Starbucks and DD today. Way to go Ravens.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:26 AM
The King Laserface tweet about timeouts last night had me rolling. I’m really coming around to Phil Rivers.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:27 AM
Yes. But not the, yet
so you’re going to make your line in the sand way, way, way over there, and scream it to the heavens? Because that’s really the only way all of us over here are going to hear it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:27 AM
Delpo did destroy an admittedly off Rafa at the Open last year. He may have a chance on hard courts of derailing Nadal. Are Murray and Djoker gonna’ be outta’ luck?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:28 AM
I like it for the Nintendo games, and the Virtual Console. SMB3 is always a great pick-me-up
September 14th, 2010 at 9:28 AM
Murray has his number on hardcourts if I’m not mistaken.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:29 AM
How many mg’s do you usually take a night? I’m thinking of upgrading.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
so what’s the active player major count right now? 16-9-1-1-1 to that’s it? It looks something like that, I think.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
Where can Clown buy one of those shirts Djokers pops was wearing?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
Love the tennis talk. Not that I’m a big tennis fan, but the variety is refreshing.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
You are.
Rafa 8
Murray 4
September 14th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
normally i’m not groggy with melatonin once i get up and move around or get in the shower. advil pm, however, fucks me up most times.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
Hey TBL, throw that Jets post up there. I need to poop.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
Love the tennis talk. Not that I’m a big tennis fan, but the variety is refreshing.
Ohio State would beat Nadal or Federer at tennis. Big Ten is superawesome.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:32 AM
Ate my comment what the fuck. That was overall, hard court is tied at three.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
Joe Montana > Andy Murray
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGS
September 14th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
As long as Federer doesn’t hold a “Decision” to announce that he’s going to be taking his talents to Ibizi to play doubles with Nadal.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:33 AM
Not his fault his better than Roethlisberger.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
*he’s
/Melatonin’d
September 14th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
Djokovic is ahead of him on hardcourts too..but 3 out of 5 and the extra pressure of a major is a different ballgame.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
Careful sanders, Melatonin has a contradiction with Propecia.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:35 AM
It’d be refreshing if Andy Murray put it all together. Still a young guy though. Women’s tennis has so much more parity. Makes Serena’s accomplishments that much more impressive. Yeah, I know… She has a dick blah blah blah.
Be interesting to see if Rafa can string together as many French Opens as Roger did Wimbledons.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:35 AM
No. He was “snubbed” because he wasn’t good enough to make the team.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:35 AM
Nadal just now got this hard court thing down. He’s going to smoke bitches on fast surfaces now.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:35 AM
Remember, if Rafa wins the Australian, that’s 4 straight majors, the Rafa Slam.
They’re out of luck if they have to go through both Fed and Nadal to win a major, as Djokovich proved last night. They can each beat one but not both in the same tourney, that’s asking too much.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:36 AM
i agree, captain kangaroo.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:36 AM
Careful sanders, Melatonin has a contradiction with Propecia.
I laughed, even though contradiction is not the word you wanted.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:36 AM
Biggest bullshit thing about women’s tennis? Prize money for Grand Slam events is the same as for the men’s. They play less tennis in majors than the men, that is fucking bullshit and trumps any of this seventy cent to the dollar glass ceiling shit.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:37 AM
Djokovic needs to improve his serve. too many double faults
September 14th, 2010 at 9:37 AM
If Belichick was 18′s coach, they’d never lose a SB. Peyton > Federer > Rafa.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:37 AM
yeah I couldn’t remember what it was and I’m fucked up on the cough syrup the hospital gave me this morning.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
uh, I think Rafa has one more French in him
September 14th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
So are we not discussing last night? like it never happened?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Women’s tennis has so much more parity. Makes Serena’s accomplishments that much more impressive.
That is so untrue. Women’s tennis currently (and for a decade) has had two players who should both have been more dominant the Graf, and then a lot of also rans. Because the two aforementioned players don’t care about tennis as much as being fat and wealthy (and should consider dining on delicious, delicious bullets) a lot of also rans have bubbled up.
Venus and Serena should hold every major played since 1996.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
But doesn’t women’s tennis get higher ratings, and thus more sponsership $$?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:38 AM
Damn, Mole’s been hating on me two straight days now. First I get blasted for hating Michael Bay, now it’s the baldness…
September 14th, 2010 at 9:39 AM
Federer has made a conscious decision not to emphasize strength training and off court stuff. It may result in his career fading out earlier than it might have. Tennis has evolved, and Roger now has to deal with the new breed of strong athletes like Nadal, Murray, Verdasco, etc. who really stress the strength stuff.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:39 AM
yeah I couldn’t remember what it was and I’m fucked up on the cough syrup the hospital gave me this morning.
did you make purple drank, or are you a little low on jolly ranchers?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:39 AM
I’m waiting for the post…this has been 6 months in the making
September 14th, 2010 at 9:40 AM
Not sure how much. I just grabbed the bottle in the dark and swigged them down before I realized it was more than one.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:40 AM
Mole- I bet more of the spectators pay to see the women than the men. I’ve got no problem with them cashing in. They cast a wider net for fans with their players having a more diverse geographical background.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:40 AM
Hey TBL, throw that Jets post up there. I need to poop.
Nothing like working in NYC after a bad Jets loss……. I’m giddy
September 14th, 2010 at 9:40 AM
Rafa’s streak at the French is at one right now. He won four in a row then Fed won in 09.
Fed and Bjorn have the Wimbledon streak at five.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
Biggest bullshit thing about women’s tennis? Prize money for Grand Slam events is the same as for the men’s.
women’s tennis kept tennis alive during the dark ages of Sampras and early Federer.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
oh you mean in a row, I thought you meant total.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
Agree with your premise, but I think you’re discounting the beauty of randomness that is sports.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
buy some clippers and set yourself free. just did that to myself last week, not only am i saving money every month on the Rx but i just added an extra 5-10 minutes every morning now that i don’t have to worry about my hair (what’s left of it)
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
Ohio State would beat Nadal or Federer at tennis.
Ok, but what would Boise St do?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM
Well the Michael Bay shot was at TBL not you but what the fuck you like him too? Also I’m just trying to get you to accept the fact that you look like Jeff Reed.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:42 AM
lol.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:42 AM
how much do you take? I take a 10mg (I think) every once in a while and they knock me out and give me crazy ass, long detailed dreams, but I never wake up groggy from them. usually take it around 8:30 or 9 p.m. though and make sure I can get 7 hours sleep minimum.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:42 AM
Yeah I know women’s tennis is popular (even though it fucking sucks compared to mens, oooooooooo fundamentals) I just find it funny they get paid the same for less work.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
Was referring to consecutive titles, fetch. Fed had why, 5 or 6 straight Wimbledons right? Not sure how many Frenchs Rafa ever won in a row.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
Ok, but what would Boise St do?
they’d place second in the Greater Hartford Open, and then cry that they weren’t ranked #1 in the world.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
I think he has to embrace technology and switch to a different racquet and/or string. These guys (Berdych, Del Potro, Soderling etc.) are pushing him back behind the baseline.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
I understand what you are saying, but what are you going to do when you have to wait a year for someone to figure out how to downgrade a game to make it playable on the wii like they did Modern Warfare? Plus Nintendo is really bad with listening to people regarding multiplayer. getting them to start doing it was like pulling teeth.
If you already have one of the other console then I can see doing it, but if you don’t then even if you get the nintendo games, you have to remember that you will rarely get anything good for older players like Final Fantasy or Arkham Asylum.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
Eh, if so, oh well.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:43 AM
Good point, but it’s not too late for him. Agassi busted his ass at the same age and reinvented himself to a degree, and he was able to hang, bad back and all.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:44 AM
damn Chris Rainey arrested on felony stalking charge
September 14th, 2010 at 9:44 AM
Women’s tennis is really boring right now, but there was a time it was more interesting to me than the men’s game.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:45 AM
Yeah I know women’s tennis is popular (even though it fucking sucks compared to mens, oooooooooo fundamentals) I just find it funny they get paid the same for less work.
I pretty much disagree, since 80% of most men’s tennis is home run servers who can’t return anything. I’d rather watch pretty Ovas run around with their bloomers showing, but it’s not like men’s tennis is necessarily awesome below the top 7 or 8.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:45 AM

September 14th, 2010 at 9:45 AM
Also the beauty of fat out of shape female tennis players named Serena.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:45 AM
i can say that again.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:45 AM
It’s coming, and if it doesn’t I will tj. Jets fans (namely me) deserve whatever is coming today.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:46 AM
It definitely isn’t. The Isner match was fucking horrible. But women’s tennis can not even remotely come close to the awesomeness of some of the rallys that we saw in yesterday’s match.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:46 AM
I applaud your bravery. Paying $15 for a half head of hair seems to me a rip off at this point, but I just don’t have the balls to cut it all off right now. And like you said paying for Propecia and Rogaine is a bitch. Going bald sucks.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:46 AM
I buy it for PC.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:46 AM
Dirt with the rare double post. This is like watching Manning throw into double coverage.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:47 AM
Agree with your premise, but I think you’re discounting the beauty of randomness that is sports.
funny, because the beauty of tennis is the beauty of random it girls that bubble up.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:47 AM
The bottle says 3mg. Maybe the wine didn’t help either.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:47 AM
You’re a champ, Jersey. Good on ya.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
Lil’ Wayne has very neat printing.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
I’m waiting for the post…this has been 6 months in the making
lmao its the first game of the season
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
You’ve been fine. It’s someone else who’s been crowing all summer long who’s going to have to sit and take it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
By the way I’m obviously taking the hotness of certain female players out of this equation. Because yeah, holy shit the Wozniaki semifinal? I had a semi times two.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
But you guys have the Mexigod. How can you look bad on offense?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:48 AM
Come on, you’re not that new to this site, are you?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
it does suck. but then you realize no one else cares as much as you think they do. i thought it would look terrible, but it actually looks pretty good.
and you can eventually just keep getting it shorter and shorter until you can just shave it.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
I’m not really going that bald that I need to buzz my hair, it’s just cheap and I’ve always kept my hair short. Nothing against long hair, but that just seems like a huge time suck, unless you have protruding ears or one of those weird-shaped heads.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
99% of the movie going public would agree with you, though I can not think of any other person on the planet who could of pulled off Transformers. Could not follow 2 though. Megatron was not even the primary villian, what the hell was up with that and he wont be for 3.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:49 AM
It’s coming, and if it doesn’t I will tj. Jets fans (namely me) deserve whatever is coming today.
you’re a stand-up guy, Jersey
September 14th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
Not anymore it isn’t. Outside of maybe 5 players in the top-15, all of the guys today can return the ball and knock it around. I actually miss the serve and volley guys, but with how fast the ball comes back now, I’m not sure we’ll ever see too many S&V guys.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
I know right? I’m going to have to sacrifice a couple more chickens to the almighty this weekend.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:50 AM
Watching Spongebob. Plankton is awesome.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
I can. His name is Nelson Shin and he directed the animated movie, which even though animated was a much more sincere and well told story.
Also Bay didn’t pull off Transformers. Transformers sucked dick, imo.
Though the Meatloaf videos he did and the Aaron Burr milk commercial? Brilliant.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
it is. I used to have super long hair. It blew ass every morning.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
I’ll tell you what, I’d much rather have Dexter McCluster or Javier Arenas on the Colts than Pat Angerer right now.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
This weekend, I felt like Job. The football gods are testing my faith. I still believe, but I feel forsaken. And I want Brian Schottenheimer to wake the fuck up.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:52 AM
even for a Jet hater, I would think that it would an anticlimatic victory.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:52 AM
found myself just fastforwarding the “plot” just to watch robots fight. i’m ok if it’s the same way with 3.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:52 AM
So bald men have to pay the same amount of money for a haircut as a someone with a full head of hair? I think i’m having a Larry David moment.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
And he can’t even do that right, they all look the same just big ass gray GM ads.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
Mark Sanchez playing like shit in a Jets loss? Not anticlimactic at all
September 14th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
I can’t picture this at all. Are we talking Jesus hair?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:53 AM
This weekend, I felt like Job. The football gods are testing my faith. I still believe, but I feel forsaken
sadly, as a 40 year Bills fan, I understand this feeling
September 14th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
For sure. When I was little I can remember tagging along to the barber shop with my dad and watching him get all four of his hairs cut for full price. I think that’s where barbers really make their money. I can’t imagine it’s a highly lucrative profession, but maybe.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
How good did they look last night? I really do think the rain helped them a lot last night though. V-Jax just threw another dart at AJ Smith’s picture and laughed.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:54 AM
Could not follow 2 though. Megatron was not even the primary villian, what the hell was up with that and he wont be for 3.
found myself just fastforwarding the “plot” just to watch robots fight. i’m ok if it’s the same way with 3.
I couldn’t tell the robots apart, between good guys and bad guys. Here’s two things I wish would have happened in Transformers 2. I wish somebody would have screamed “Bee” more often, and I wish that two of the robots could have been more stereotypically black and urban.
Otherwise, oscars all around.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
i’m not picky with giant robots fighting. i do think he’s got to zoom out a little bit though.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
I mean visually he did. No one better at blowing stuff up. I would not want an animator to direct live action, they are 2 totally different things.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
Exactly. Thats why Ive listened to every second of Mike “The Jets are winning the division and the Pats are missing the playoffs” Greenberg this morning.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
i think we can admit the Chiefs did a great job of drafting players. how many rookies were out there last night for them?
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
You know what’s sad, how close to your prediction that game came last night. I hate you.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
Gal: it was like this, maybe a little longer
September 14th, 2010 at 9:55 AM
Mark Sanchez playing like shit in a Jets loss? Not anticlimactic at all
that was only his 17th pro start. Do you know that Peyton Manning threw interceptions early in his career?
/just sayin’
September 14th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
Also Jazz is possibly the most stereotypical black character in film history, I never saw 2 but I heard there were like Amos and Andy transformers or something.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:56 AM
You’re entering a world of pain, Larry.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
I just want someone who can flip the field two or three times a game, that’s all. Because even when the Colts’ defense does get a stop, it’s not until the other team has moved the ball at least 30 or 40 yards. 80 yard drives are the not the way to success.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
I hate the Pats, CJ, but I’ll join you in a hearty high five on that one.
Jersey: I thought about that in the last drive. My friend kept asking me what I was laughing about.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
Brad Bird is possibly the greatest animation director of all time and is going to direct Mission Impossible IV. I will see it because he is directing it.
Bay is good at what he does no doubt. But for me it goes back to the fact that I haven’t been impressed by the visuals of a live action movie since T2. Animation is much more impressive visually anyway.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
i think we can admit the Chiefs did a great job of drafting players. how many rookies were out there last night for them?
SEC speed was on display.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM
greenberg is such a fucking piece of shit.
he was bragging last week about how “people ask him about the jets all the time because people connect him with the team.”
September 14th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
They should of given Starscream his old CObra COmmander voice.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
I don’t remember Manning being the 4square mayor of Checkdown City though.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:58 AM
I know he’s being groomed for the future, but I’ve about had it up to here with these people being “groomed” and want some instant impact motherfuckers in there. Tony Ugoh – being groomed. Mike Pollak – being groomed. Donald Brown – being groomed. Fili Moala – being groomed. All being groomed or brought along slowly, all first or second round picks. All currently contributing bupkis.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Yes. Last time I had to pay for a haircut, they charged me $17 to run clippers over my head.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
He was this past weekend.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
I was so pissed yesterday. Michael Kay was doing his show live from the stadium and he had M&M there. The show turned into a dick sucking of them being the best morning show in the country. I wanted to throw my laptop.
I really want to re-alter Greenberg’s nose sometimes.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:59 AM
Mark Sanchez playing like shit in a Jets loss? Not anticlimactic at all
lol didn’t we know that already? I think we should spread the blame around a little bit more too, Slauson got demolished, Greene was a hot mess, LT sucked, but ok I can see your point. Sanchez was a bum.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
The recurring business that a local barber of a few decades gets is pretty incredible. Guy that I go to consistently has a line of people on the weekends and after work hours. Every time I go in there I get the, “I’ve been coming here for 20+ years” talk.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Good for him, but I have no idea how his name came up as possible directors. The Incredibles maybe? Not too excited about, but 3 was surprisingly good.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
he was bragging last week about how “people ask him about the jets all the time because people connect him with the team.”
byron hout probably asked him today.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Well that guy is dead sadly. But as far as replacements go, you can’t beat Frank Welker.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Because they are both losers.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
I was thinking about this too.. I was gonna be so pissed if the ‘clutch’ Sanchez led them down for a field goal to win it
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
He is? That’s really weird.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
Sanders – It must be nice to have first, second or even third round picks that are still on your team. I don’t even remember what that looks like anymore.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
he comes across as a radio host who decided to like the jets because that’s where he broadcasts his radio show. i don’t think there’s anything genuine or believable about his passion for sports or any team in particular.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
lol this Jets hate is really well deserved.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM
Best skill player out there last night. He looked pretty damn good. This team is missing Faneca like whoa. I have to admit that. (And I never wanted him gone in the first place.)
September 14th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
Honestly me either but I think it will be awesome. Animation directing actually involves a shitload of camera work, I don’t think it will be hard for him to make the leap. He’s doing a movie about the big SF earthquake too.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:02 AM
For the Jets? Maybe. But other than one well-blocked toss to the left he didn’t do much but get driven quickly to the turf like lolcatz.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Fact: I would have ignored everything bad about last night had that happened.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Sanders – It must be nice to have first, second or even third round picks that are still on your team. I don’t even remember what that looks like anymore.
I just pretend that the draft didn’t exist pre-2008.
/fuck you Shack Harris
September 14th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
id take boldin as the best skill player out there last night.
by a wide margin.
dude is BEAST.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:04 AM
Oh great – Cowherd is telling me that Sanchez made great strides last night and is comparing him to Brady when he faced the Ravens in the playoffs. Radio, off.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:04 AM
I guess he never heard of Howard Stern before.
Michael Kay is OK despite the fact that he always has Jeters balls smacking him in the face, but he says things that are so crazy sometimes that I wonder if thinks before he speaks. Like he said Mark Sanchez was going to have a big season because the Jets were holding him back in preseason in order to surprise him. I was like, you’re kidding, right?
But then when your alternative is some fat ass who thinks he is the worlds biggest football expert, what are you going to do?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Best skill player out there last night.
Is the punter a skill position?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Jersey LT sucked because he didn’t make any relevant plays.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:05 AM
3rd and 4th quarter he was moving the ball pretty effectively. Ngata, Suggs and friends kicked the shit out of the line for the most part. He touched the ball about 11 times and looked effective when he did. Shonn Greene needs to sprint today, tomorrow, the next day…
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
id take boldin as the best skill player out there last night.
it wasn’t flacco. If Baltimore had a better QB, Boldin scores twice, and Heap probably scores on three long throws.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
LT did not play last night, he’s retired.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Only four teams last year had six or fewer first downs in a game: the Bucs against the Giants in Week 3 (5), the Bengals against the Jets in Week 17 (5), the Bucs against the Jets in Week 14 and the Rams against the 49ers in Week 17.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Yeah, I’ll jump on the Greenberg sucks bandwagon. Although, I dislike his fat speech impaired lesbian co-worker much, much more. What an arrogant and holier than thou prick.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Seems like in the midst of all the Jets hate it’s getting overlooked that the Ravens are pretty… I dunno, good? Of course, I didn’t see the game but after all the Twitter buzz about the Jets soiling themselves I have to think the Ravens like just moving right along to week 2.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
the first season of FNL was the greatest in tv history
September 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
For the game it was Boldin…best Jets player was Brad Smith.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Seth Greenberg fucking sucks too.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Sorry. I meant for the Jets. I hope Wilson didn’t kill himself last night.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Ravens still need a QB though.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
I just turned him on so I can hear it. He’s in full on Jets apologist mode. It’s fantastic.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:08 AM
Hard to say. Their main weakness – their secondary – wasn’t tested at all, and Flacco’s pocket awareness is going to limit their offense from reaching its potential. He’s a strip sack waiting to happen. When they play a team that can put 25-30 points on the board they could be in trouble. The Colts, Chargers and maybe even the Pats look like bad matchups for them right now.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Best skill player out there last night.
Fireman Ed. I watch him like a cheetah ready to pounce on its prey, hoping that fucker is gonna fall off the railing
but he never does
September 14th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Yeah, WTF is he babbling about? Totally disagree with what he’s staying about Sanchez. Saying he “didn’t make the big mistake.” He didn’t make it because he was looking for the checkdown one second after the sack. He didn’t even go down field!
September 14th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
HA! Just saw the Ellis hit on Flacco. That was a shot. Not quite what Ray Murda did to Keller, but a big hit.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
Huh? He had a couple last night. Led the team in offensive yards. The only more effective player was Nick fucking Folk.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:10 AM
can you expound on this further? I didn’t see much of the game because I was at the gym, then putting my son to bed. If the Jets offense is a retard trying to hump a doorknob, then how good are the Ravens if they let the Jets hang around the whole game?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:10 AM
did he even watch the fucking game? I admittedly didn’t watch a ton of jets games last year, but Sanchez’s performance last night was T-jack worthy, and that ain’t a fucking compliment.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
Jesus christ. This Jets apologist mode on Cowherd – he’s screening calls from the pro-Jets/Sanchez was awesome last night crowd – is ridiculous. I’m not gonna KILL him (Ravens were great, playcalling was conservative) but gimme a break.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
It’s refreshing. Sanchez not throwing any picks last night was a HUGE relief to me. Again. Schotty deserves A LOT more blame this morning. Most of blogs covering the Jets agree.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
i’d be more concerned about Shonn Green’s body language and fumblitis than LT. that dude looked like a beat puppy in the 3rd qtr last night.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
My favorite play was Keller running his route a yar sort of the first down marker.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
Ravens had to play a pretty good defense as well.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
They might have been better off if he’d thrown one or two picks and had actually tried to test the Ravens downfield. The Ravens certainly weren’t turning many of the Jets’ mistakes into points.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
C’mon Sanders. 18 threw for 403 yds this weekend… He couldn’t have checked down that often.
Cowherd did not just say that, did he? Damn, he is stumping for listenership today. Aiming to get the hate calls. Love it.
Has Colin mentioned the anvil that TBL dropped on his big toe yesterday?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
how about this? preseason proves itself to be so unnecessary. the quality of play in week 1 makes preseason silly–the fuck were these guys doing? figger out who you should cut from practice not preseason games.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
Shonn Greene needs to sprint today, tomorrow, the next day…
always a smart move to dump the two guys who comprised about 70% of your running game last year, then replace them with a guy you put in the doghouse halfway through Game 1 the next year, and another who always comes up small in big games when he was good, and that was 3 years ago
September 14th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
Wonder if TBL realizes that holding off on the Jets post is just going to make it worse. Folks chomping at the bit right now
September 14th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
I can not stand how he always uses the word “conversation” all the time and trying to make it seem like every single thing they talk about is major news. Or how they do all the fake laughing to all the sub local morning zoo comedy bits they do.
Does he totally avoid talking about steroids now that he admitted to it himself?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
The Jets played right to the Ravens strength by being conservative. Sanchez sucks, of course, but your QB is your QB. You have to try to go after the weakness of the defense, especially when that defense is the Ravens and they’re going to smash your run game.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
i’d be more concerned about Shonn Green’s body language and fumblitis than LT. that dude looked like a beat puppy in the 3rd qtr last night.
I was waiting on the espn cameras to zoom in on him crying on the sideline.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
You didn’t see the game. 73 of those came on one throw late in the game after it was out of reach. Up until the fourth quarter his YPA was firmly wedged at about 5.5. He was getting hit or about to get hit on every other pass attempt. It wasn’t pretty.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
he is a troll with cloven hooves, he could probably scale everest without a sherpa.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
Wally – It’s pretty sad, dude. Cowherd already took a call from a “Jets fan” who agreed with everything he said. Yikes.
Also, #18 completed 40 passes for 433 yards. Take away that 72 yarder with two minutes left and that’s 39 for 361. Checkdowns and underneath.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
As I understand it, the Jets defense is the best part of their team, if not one of the best in the league. The Ravens were the only team to score a touchdown yesterday. Between the putrid offenses, the Ravens had a little more success. I like Flacco’s ceiling better than Sanchusquapatelburro. Also like Boldin better than Holmes when he returns. Their running games are pretty even I’d guess with the Jets O-Line being better but the Ravens having more talent in the backfield.
I’m guessing on the O-Line because I gather from everyone here that the Jets is pretty good but I don’t have any sort of read on the Ravens.
The Ravens D isn’t what it used to be, of course.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:15 AM
My favorite play was Keller running his route a yar sort of the first down marker.
This was touched on a little last night. The throw was behind him and didn’t give him much of an opportunity to turn up field.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
My favorite play was Keller running his route a yar sort of the first down marker.
he was still out of it from the play right before that. Ray Lewis crushed him
September 14th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
My favorite play was Keller running his route a yar sort of the first down marker.
i’m sure he was feeling terrible after being eviscerated by Ray Lewis 2 plays earlier. And that was an awful, awful throw. If that ends up anywhere near his hands, he’s easily turning and running up field.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Thomas Jones going bye-bye was a good move, but yeah, they shoulda kept Leon Washington.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
And again. The problem was Schottenheimer. Too many intricate double motions. Too many pre snap moves for the offense. Throw a fucking screen. Test their cbs. Stop trying to trick the secondary that sucks.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
My favorite part was getting to describe the Keller play to someone who missed the game.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Fair enough. You’re right. Didn’t see that game. Got subjected to the Bengals shitting the bed and the Steelers and Falcons setting the game back 20 years. Ended up listening to the Browns on the radio and watching Durant dismantle the Turks.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Thomas Jones going bye-bye was a good move, but yeah, they shoulda kept Leon Washington.
Amen to that.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Sanchez not “making a mistake” last night is laughable. If your passing offense is geared around “Don’t throw an interception!” at the expense of even taking an ATTEMPT to throw past 15 yards, you are in big trouble.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Jets post is up you bitches.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
You might be the only person I’ve heard say this
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
here’s something you don’t see every day:
Ricky Williams RickyWilliams
RT @TimGrahamESPN: Strange magic keeps @RickyWilliams running http://is.gd/f611o <— Thank you Tim for writing this story
Ricky is unlike any other athlete I have ever seen in my life.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
@Cornholio – I don’t listen to them enough to know about Golic’s steroid talk. I just know every time I’ve ever heard them, they are terrible. And Golic’s arrogance is the worst.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
That and the fact that the last play WAS a mistake.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
Post up!
September 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM
This was touched on a little last night. The throw was behind him and didn’t give him much of an opportunity to turn up field.
he had time to put the ball past the 1st down marker
September 14th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
Ricky is one of my favorite athletes of all time. Has this tortured genius about him. Yeah I’m fucking awesome but so is reefer.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
he had time to put the ball past the 1st down marker
Most of his momentum was headed towards the sidelines, had the ball in the wrong hand (as a result of the throw).
September 14th, 2010 at 10:21 AM
Good or bad thing?
September 14th, 2010 at 10:29 AM
lol @ sanchez.
/flacco wasn’t much better
//lol @ flacco
