Alabama QB Greg McElroy is Going Through the Rhodes Scholar Application Process
Rhodes Scholar: Everyone knows Alabama’s Greg McElroy hasn’t lost in 31 starts as a QB dating back to eighth grade, but did you know he was in the midst of the Rhodes Scholar application process? McElroy also got his degree in business admin in three years and earned a 3.86 GPA. More importantly – at least to the Bama Bangs set – he’s the second most poised QB in college football behind Boise State’s Kellen Moore. The guess here is that McElroy manages another great game, Trent Richardson rushes for 100+ and the Tide defense (playing at home) obliterates PSU true freshman quarterback Robert Bolden in a 20-3 boring blowout. The Tide are nearly two-touchdown favorites. [Daily News]

Does anybody know his Poise rating in NCAA Football 11? What about his Clutch rating? Is there a way to combine the two like we do for OPS?

Did he make it through to the Titans’ practice squad or did someone scoop him up?

Make sure Derek Dooley gives you a demonstration before you turn on the water.

Leeloo Dallas Multi-Ass is also great.

What Bama is going to do to Penn State is going to remind me of what Boise does to 90% of there WAC opponents.
September 10th, 2010 at 12:03 PM
See, Bama isn’t going to lose at home to a freshman QB.
However, they will lose on the road to the 2012 #1 overall pick, Sean Renfree the next week.
/book it

If PSU wins, does JoePa piss on the Bear Bryant statue outside the stadium?
/doesn’t know if there is actually a Bear Bryant statue or not

This might be my laziest weekend in a while, as it currently stands I’ve made no plans other then to watch wall to wall football both Sat and Sunday. The match-ups on Sat are just great all around and of course the NFL is well the NFL.

It looks like he’s still a free agent, unfortunately. Seems like the kind of guy that Belechick would take a chance on, though. Only FSU, besides PT Willis that I ever liked.

He is on the Titans practice squad.

Probably will have already pissed his pants by game time.

This game description sounds just like what the Jets should do in all their games, but won’t.

Lil Schott needs to hear this. He gets too creative with his gameplans. He has great schemes, but would be better served just running the ball.

It’s a win for PSU if Joepa doesn’t die before halftime

Worst news I’ve heard all day.
September 10th, 2010 at 12:21 PM
what does a 3.86 at ‘Bama translate too at an actual school?
September 10th, 2010 at 12:26 PM
translates into a football team that’s not so good.

Will be taking in my first big-time (D-1) college football game tomorrow at Camp Randall in Madison.
Any suggestions for things to see or do in the stadium area from those who’ve attended Badgers games before? I’m getting there as early as possible tomorrow to take it all in.

Wear a San Jose St. jersey and enjoy ensuing comedic hijinks.

He’s looking for that head coaching gig. Gonna be tough to do.

I believe you mean Ryan Mallett, and the game is in two weeks. the game is in Fayetteville though, so you got the road part correct.
September 10th, 2010 at 12:39 PM
Drink.
/Not alot of scenery around the stadium area, though Lake Mendota is pretty cool. If you’re bringing the family, I’d probably head down State St. Some cool shops and lots of good places to eat.
/Fat Sandwich Company FTW.

Kind of hurts your argument.
