Media Members Like Indianapolis or Green Bay to Win the 2011 Super Bowl
This link has the NFL season predictions of more than 50 media members, ranging from sportswriters to analysts to TV reporters to bloggers (including TBL, Duffy and CRM). The list isn’t complete so email me if you have links to other prediction lists. Below is a roundup of the media predictions.
- The Colts got the most Super Bowl picks, with 16. The Packers could be considered a co-favorite, as 13 members picked them. Ravens are trending as well: 10 media members picked them to win.

- Green Bay Packers are heaviest favorites to win their division. 51 of 53 media members picked them to win. Colts are next with 50 picks, followed by 49ers (49) and Chargers (48).

This may be duckworth’d, but Paris Hilton hides drugs in her va-jay-jay.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:18 PM
If the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, I will eat my hat. Is there a worse OL for a top 16 team?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:20 PM
Cowlishaw’s pretty good at predictions. I bet the Bengals will win the Super Bowl by this Saturday. Or next Wednesday.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:21 PM
Are the Steelers a top 16 team?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:21 PM
This. They’re d is going to be on the field. A lot.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:21 PM
It looks bad, but we won’t really know much for a few weeks. If Kosier and Colombo come back by October, they could be just fine.
/hope they fall down a flight of stairs
September 9th, 2010 at 3:23 PM
They also have a Week 4 bye, which in their case might actually be helpful.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:23 PM
Geez, I wish I had as much faith in the Pack winning the NFCN/NFC as the masses. The Pack looks sharp, but one injury to that secondary and its back to the Arizona playoff game…
September 9th, 2010 at 3:23 PM
Is bsanders watching Hellcats tonight?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:24 PM
Tigers beat Meth Sox again, take three of four. You’re welcome, Twins.
Verlander, Bonderman and Porcello pwned. Scherzer was in line for the win in game one. If these guys could’ve pitched like this all season…
September 9th, 2010 at 3:24 PM
Mr. Stephen Douglas is smart.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:24 PM
Is bsanders watching Hellcats tonight?
Those girls look a little old for him
September 9th, 2010 at 3:25 PM
Cowboys line > Pittsburgh line
September 9th, 2010 at 3:26 PM
If the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, I will eat my hat. Is there a worse OL for a top 16 team?
Out of the teams in each division with the most votes they gotta be the most likely not to come through.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:26 PM
Weird schedule. The Giants and Cowboys play twice in four weeks, but the last is mid-November. The Eagles and Cowboys play twice in four weeks, but the first game isn’t until December 12th.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:26 PM
/team Duffy
September 9th, 2010 at 3:26 PM
Steelers o-line in their last SB season is a good point, but they had Roethlisberger who is hard to bring down. Romo will just have to revert to his poor man’s Favre impersonation.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:27 PM
That was last night. (Saving it for later)
September 9th, 2010 at 3:27 PM
All of this, I feel like I know something about their defense that the prognosticators don’t and is scares me…they weren’t even close to being the actual #2 overall in the league last year, just got fat off of terrible offenses and then crapped the bed against good ones (Vikings twice, Steelers, Cards, hell even the shitty Bucs had their way with them)
Even if that secondary stays healthy I’m not sure they’re all that good outside of Woodson and there’s nothing more he can do back there…Trammon Williams can be decent but should be a nickel back and then whoever the nickel is (Patrick Lee? Jarred Bush?) is most likely terrible
September 9th, 2010 at 3:29 PM
much as the White Sox helped the Twins last year, the Tigers help the Twins this year. Of course, the Twins don’t need it this year, but it is much appreciated anyways.
well said. Best writer here by far.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:29 PM
I am loving this. Did the Packers even do anything in the offseason to get better? Or is everyone banking on “its an extra year under world renowned defensive guru Dom Capers!”?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:29 PM
man, i thought it was tonight. whatever.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:29 PM
I was reading that spreadsheet and anonymous user 394-398 kept creeping me out by looking over my shoulder.
Colts over Packers, FWIW.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:30 PM
Yeah but they’ve got defensive ROY Morgan Burnett prowling back there at safety.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:30 PM
Haha, good old Boston media.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:30 PM
You could always prop up Al Harris’ corpse like a scarecrow.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:31 PM
I’d would have been nice if the tigers could have put some wins like this together at the end of last season.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:31 PM
Gods you have to take the shoe laces out of your shoes since yesterday?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:31 PM
Weird schedule.
No kidding the Titans and the Colts play twice in the last 4 weeks. I would be overjoyed if I was a Titans fan, especially if the Colts have the division under wraps by then.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:31 PM
I know you are deeply upset. Tonight is Niita and the return of the timeless Melinda Clarke to network TV.
/pours one out for The OC.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:32 PM
i’m just waiting for the return of smallville in two weeks, and the start of no ordinary family
September 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM
I just don’t see this.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM
/Email thingie fixed.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM
Starting for at least six weeks until the 2600 Atari Bigby is off the PUP list…somehow they’re always among the youngest teams in the NFL, this defies explanation since a lot of their former draft picks are still with the team and theoretically have aged
September 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM
Jarett Bush is the nickel with Shields nipping at his toes. I expect a big year from Tramon now that he has had some reps and he needs to get $$$.
On the bright side, Al Harris is out the first six games. In those first six games, they play a lot of scrubby passing offenses. Still, when you are one injury from Bush starting at CB2 plus I have a tough time naming the backup FS/SS, I just can’t say they are better than the Saints (yet).
September 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM
Really?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:34 PM
Smallville still exists? Is KK still on it?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:34 PM
Michael Chiklis is da man in everything he does.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:34 PM
Ray-Ray is right. One of my favorite players. He gets to be the first check cashed Monday night.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:34 PM

/not as cool as honey badger
September 9th, 2010 at 3:35 PM
Great great nickname.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:35 PM
nope, she’s gone.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:35 PM
Think it has a lot more to do with everyone is in love with the Packers offense and also looking for the Vikings to have a dropoff. I think they are both in 11-5 territory, but if T-Jack has to play a lot of games then GBP has the division easy.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:36 PM
Thank you, I’ve been using it for three years years but sadly it hasn’t caught on amongst my buddies…perhaps I should email Berman suggesting he use it, will title the message “Great ‘Stache Brah” so I know for sure he’ll open it
September 9th, 2010 at 3:37 PM
Never saw the Shield, but I did enjoy the Commish when I was a little tike. My grandma used to watch that and Walker Texas Ranger.
I just think No Ordinary Family looks like a stretch. It’s The Incredibles without all the cool animation.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:37 PM
Can we still call him Ray-Ray now that there really is a Ray-Ray? (Miami’s answer to Taylor Mays, btw, still good enough to knock some Buckeyes on their asses)
September 9th, 2010 at 3:38 PM
Then they are uncultured buffoons. “Adventure” was such an awesome game.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:38 PM
‘don’t call it needle, call it….dick’
September 9th, 2010 at 3:39 PM
its an extra year under world renowned defensive guru Dom Capers!
Is that meant facetiously? From what I’ve seen of Dom Capers teams over the years it seems like a good label for him even if he sucked as a head coach
September 9th, 2010 at 3:39 PM
He sure debated that Lincoln fella good.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:39 PM
Anyone watch Terriers last night? I thought it was pretty good. I’ll be watching again next week for sure.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:39 PM
it could suck, but worth a shot. like i said, chiklis is awesome.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:41 PM
I think moving Raji to nose and Pickett to end on the same side as Clay Matthews will have more of an impact than being the in the second year of the scheme. They need to rush the passer because with the track meets GBP will be in this year, no one is running the ball on them.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:41 PM
The hope amongst we Packer fans is that with a full year under the new system behind them there will be fewer confusion/communication mistakes…really all the need is BJ Raji to plug the middle and Clay Matthews to harrass QBs and if the offense delivers they should be fine, start forcing some turnovers again and they become the Saints-Lite
September 9th, 2010 at 3:42 PM
Chiklis is one of those actors I just can’t get behind. I see him on anything and just think, “Hey, it’s the Commish!” and just change the channel. I’ve never even gotten into The Shield for this reason
September 9th, 2010 at 3:42 PM
and can’t believe you didn’t watch the shield. best show on tv the last decade, IMO.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:42 PM
He’s fine but not one to make chicken salad out of chicken shit in two years.
Sounds like you guys could really use Aaron Kampman.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:42 PM
High Five, Butters
September 9th, 2010 at 3:43 PM
Oh God, this is going to open a can of worms
September 9th, 2010 at 3:43 PM
I’ve never watched this either. I’m lead to believe that I have been missing out.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
the Commish was great. Vic Mackey was better.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
1) Not in a 3-4 defense
2) Not for the $ he got after ACL injury
He’s awesome in 4-3 and wish him nothing but the best in Jax. Class act.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
Love Kampman, he was a trainwreck at linebacker…good teammate though in that he went about his business trying to get better and not bitching about it but it just wasn’t going to work
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
The Wiiiiiaarrrrrrrr! PHHWWAAARRRRRR
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
Fucking Matt Barnes. Damn knucklehead.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
I didn’t know FX was a channel until Always Sunny was on. Never seen Shield, Rescue Me or any of them. Probably get to them eventually. LOST and 24 were my shows for a long time… Mad Men has me all wrapped up and Rubicon is on my DVR.
I also got roped into bad shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Sex and the City (wasn’t that bad, of course) and Brothers and Sisters from a past relationship.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM
Echo…echo…
September 9th, 2010 at 3:45 PM
I could not be happier that he’s gone. He used to scare the shit out of me.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:46 PM
I hear you, I’m usually a sucker for that kind of on-the-street policing shit, too. I even watched NYPD Blue when Zack Morris was there. I just don’t like Chiklis for some reason
September 9th, 2010 at 3:46 PM
The new Turkey Jalapeno sub from subway is delicious, but be prepared for some serious anal output.
carry on.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:46 PM
and can’t believe you didn’t watch the shield. best show on tv the last decade, IMO.
Oh God, this is going to open a can of worms
no, its safe. Few people seem to find the fact they watched the Shield defines who they are as people. That might be why it should win the coveted award.
/sidenote, the Shield creator guy is on the extras for Lost Season six alot, and the Lost guys pretty much confirm over and over again that they came up with the ending because of Stephen King’s the Dark Tower series.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:47 PM
Sex and the City (wasn’t that bad, of course)
It really was. Except for Aidan.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:47 PM
I also got roped into bad shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Sex and the City (wasn’t that bad, of course) and Brothers and Sisters from a past relationship.
Who was the guy, SC?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:47 PM
Certainly was the biggest drawback from 4-3 to 3-4 transition. He was a beast.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
He’s awesome in 4-3 and wish him nothing but the best in Jax. Class act.
Looking forward to watching the Jags D-Line this weekend. Hopefully Knighton and Alualu can attract enough attention in the middle to allow Kampman to go wild.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Many moons ago FX used to run episodes of the old Adam West Batman.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
I find that odd since he looked like he was 50 being so fat and bald in the commish and he was only in his late 20s.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:48 PM
Tavaris Jackson knows him well…now it will be Clay Matthews’ flowing golden mane that will haunt your dreams
As an aside, Jared Allen has a van with a mattress in the back and tinted windows
September 9th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
It served its purpose, TST.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
is that where he takes the Packers O line when he rapes them?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
Anyone else have trouble with the CBS NFL pick’em (Irish’s pool) actually accepting the picks? Tried it on all 3 major browsers and still get “Please make picks for 16 games”.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:49 PM
s1rweeze – What’s your prediction tonight? Beat writer for Milw J-S thinks its going to be a beatdown, but I don’t really know how the Vikes have looked or what the expectations are from someone who knows the team.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:50 PM
I am loving this. Did the Packers even do anything in the offseason to get better? Or is everyone banking on “its an extra year under world renowned defensive guru Dom Capers!”?
It might have more to do with thinking that the Vikings have “hot mess” potential this year.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:50 PM
Just finishing up season one…I like it a lot. I am watching Breaking Bad concurrently, and have to say BB>The Shield (so far).
September 9th, 2010 at 3:51 PM
Sure as hell won’t be AJ Hawk’s
September 9th, 2010 at 3:51 PM
Rex – I had the same problem. Make sure you’re putting in a score for the Monday night game at the bottom.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
We need to ask the new guy Jay Lisp about this. If he nails it, i’ll follow his shit over at that other blog.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
I kid, of course, SC. I’ve watched and become quite familiar with some truly horrible programming on account of my girl
September 9th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Agreed. The voiceover work he does for Applebee’s is sublime.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
Two weeks behind, but if I remember correctly the show picked the pace up last time I watched. I really hope they don’t screw the build-up they’ve created. Two major story lines to weave together…hope the producers learned from the travesties that were the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Prison Break.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
i think so, too. Love the Saints tonight.
That being said, bet Minnesota.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
Don’t worry SC. I’ve seen every episode. I was actually pretty loyal for the first 3 seasons. Seen both movies.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
And the best show on FX is Archer. Easily. So ninja.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
i don’t watch much tv anymore. Night of the Museum is on a lot. my son loves it.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:53 PM
I’ve read they plan on blitzing him more this season…I won’t say he’s been a bust or anything, just not a real difference maker and as I understand it a lot of what he does isn’t flashy but he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes
Gawd I’m ready for Sunday
September 9th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
I was actually pretty loyal for the first 3 seasons. Seen both movies.
I glued my feet to the floor to avoid either one of those, at least. Gotta draw my lines somewhere
/ Farts loudly
September 9th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
Really close game. Click my name for a more detailed breakdown – the Vikings dominated the stat sheet last time but the lost fumbles destroyed their chances. They moved the ball up and down the field with ease though, and the D held Brees in check.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:54 PM
We all have, Stark. We all have.
Rock of Love still wakes me at night from time to time. I also find it truly horrifying when I recognize women talking about the Real Housewives of Whatever City they’re currently in.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:55 PM
Archer is the best show, period. Is there a second season yet?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:55 PM
Oh I get it. It’s about three spoiled whores and their mom.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
See, you can’t be made fun of for stuff like this. Your honesty is too honorable for a joke.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Hi, my name is Bubbles and I’m a recovering Sex and the City fan.
I used to own all the Sex and the City seasons. Haven’t seen the second movie though. (clap clap clap clap clap……….)
September 9th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Ha! Those Real Housewives things are a blight. I want to beat the hell out of my TV for showing me that expanding circus of obnoxious, aggressive stupidity
September 9th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Don’t worry SC. I’ve seen every episode. I was actually pretty loyal for the first 3 seasons. Seen both movies.
That’s gayer than Kenny Chesney.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:56 PM
Yup, all 15 times I’ve tried to submit.
/Rubicon is awesome
September 9th, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Not until 2011. I’ve rewatched it about 5 times now. Still doesn;t lose its flavor.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:57 PM
I found the Tosh.O Cartwheeling goalie web redemption!
September 9th, 2010 at 3:58 PM
And really, why wouldn’t they?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:58 PM
I watch Glee. Funny as shit.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:58 PM
Sex and the City…Real Housewives of Whatever City
Been lucky enough to avoid both of these, but if there is a show with little people or idiots with a boatload of children it finds it’s way onto the telly.
September 9th, 2010 at 3:59 PM
Thanks Hernia. I think…
September 9th, 2010 at 4:01 PM
I watch Glee. Funny as shit.
There’s no shame in watching good television. Just Sex in the City.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:01 PM
But… but… I get made fun of for it! It’s because I’m white, isn’t it? Or is it my distaste for the Irish?
September 9th, 2010 at 4:01 PM
Second one isn’t as good as the first, but the Liza Minelli scene was awe-inspiring.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
I didn’t make fun of you for it, SC. Great conversation piece with the ladies when it comes up.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
Shocked at the lack of SD love. They’ve been the cool pick for like 4 years.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:03 PM
Glee is good stuff. Lea Michele can be on my TV for 44 minutes anytime.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:04 PM
I think you’re in the Sex and the City closet, TST. It’s okay, you can come out. We’re all friends here.
I will totally admit to watching three entire episodes of Gossip Girl because TBL insisted it was a good show. Blake Lively is hot but the teen angst shows don’t do it for me.
My guilty pleasure is anything Guy Fieri does on the Food Network (Big Bite > DDD).
September 9th, 2010 at 4:05 PM
This thread derailed, but I’m surprised nobody pointed this out.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
Oh, I’ve also watched Dancing With the Stars on my own accord. Some of those female dancers they pair the dudes with are HOT.

September 9th, 2010 at 4:06 PM
That’s what happens when you lose at home to the Jets in the playoffs. They have a scarlet letter attached to them now.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:07 PM
My guilty pleasure is anything Guy Fieri does on the Food Network (Big Bite > DDD)
In retirement I wish to tour North America and visit as many of the DDD sites as possible before I keel over from a heart attack.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
I think you’re in the Sex and the City closet, TST. It’s okay, you can come out. We’re all friends here.
I have seen a great amount of Sex in the City. My opinion is not based on hearsay but the facts. Gossip Girl is about 47 times better than that piece of shit. As is the Rockford Files. And BJ and the Bear.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:08 PM
I’ve missed way too much Gossip Girl. I need to get caught up on some of these shows. Work and sports and partying takes up too much of my time though.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:09 PM
To add to the DDD post I made above. I am still trying to talk the wife into French Toast covered in Captain Crunch.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:09 PM
Now there’s a concept I can’t get enough of, a man and his monkey.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:10 PM
St. Bear – the youtubes are sealed off to me at work. What was contained in your attempts to re-rail the thread?
September 9th, 2010 at 4:10 PM
LOL
September 9th, 2010 at 4:12 PM
Sesame Street – “One of these things is not like the other”
September 9th, 2010 at 4:12 PM
Agreed. Losing to the Jets can be somewhat embarrassing.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:13 PM
Holy crap that was hilarious. Tosh is awesome.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:14 PM
The part when the goalie is trying to distract Brandy Chastain made me cry laughing.
I like Tosh but sometimes he just gets WAY too gross for me.
September 9th, 2010 at 4:35 PM
I know this may make me an outcast but I tried Tosh a few times and was underwhelmed. He seemed like a homeless man’s John Henson.
