Lane Kiffin is Having a Horrible Year
Would Lane Kiffin admit this has been the worst year of his professional life? In January, he ditched Tennessee after just one season and barely got out of the Knoxville alive. The school he left for (USC) gets drilled by the NCAA, some players decide to transfer and Kiffin lost USC’s No. 1 recruit. Then, the guy who hired him – USC AD Mike Garrett – got fired, and was replaced by a guy (Pat Haden) who appears to have integrity and will not put up with Kiffin’s shenanigans.
Late yesterday, Kiffin’s year got even worse – after he poached a Tennessee Titans position coach, the team decided to sue Kiffin and USC. The lawsuit alleges that “as a result of USC and Kiffin’s tortuous conduct, Tennessee (Titans) football has been damaged in an amount proven at trial … USC and Kiffin engaged in improper means in their procedure of the breach and were not legally justified in their actions.” Layla will be doing a lot of consoling this week.
