Yesterday, Daniel Nava hit a grand slam on the first pitch he saw. With it he became the 10th player in Red Sox history to homer in his first at bat. This wouldn’t be quite as big a deal except he has a very public crush on ESPN’s dancing sideline princess, Erin Andrews. Via WBZ:

“Nava has been leaving a ticket on the pass list for the ESPN sideline reporter for the last three years. Unfortunately for the PawSox outfielder, Erin hasn’t taken advantage of his generous offer – at least not yet.”

This is the same strategy that Tony Romo used to land Jesssica Simpson. If the goal is just to meet EA, then it might work. Personally, I think doing something like this is a little unprofessional. You don’t see me using the blog to try and meet Michele Beadle, do you? Mostly because my girlfriend would get mad, but also because as a frequent viewer of romantic comedies, I know it wouldn’t work the way I wanted.
