Brent Seabrook hit David Backes with a nasty — and borderline extremely dirty — hit during the third period of Blackhawks-Blues. Backes struggled mightily to stand after the shot. Seabrook received a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct the play. It briefly gave St. Louis a 5-on-3, and put them on a power play for the remainder of regulation, which they used to tie the game with 6.4 seconds left on a Vladimir Tarasenko goal. There’s a pretty sizable probability that Seabrook will be suspended for at least a game for that.
